Through bibliographical research, it is concluded that through a committed, democratic, citizen teaching, the teacher can provide students with provocation, through the proposition and presentation of dilemmas and dramas of human history, historical characters involved in events, exemplifications of the historical experience of humanity. Based on this information, the confrontation between school content and the reality experienced by students promotes the necessary reflection so that the student contextualises his learning in social life, with the capacity to act and modify society in an active and socially committed way.
