Eine 6-jährige Patientin kam zur Konsultation in die UACJ-Klinik für Behinderte. Bei der Patientin wurde ein faziales femorales Syndrom diagnostiziert, das sich in unterschiedlicher Ausprägung manifestiert und stets von Gesichtsdysmorphismus begleitet wird. Es werden die intra- und extraoralen Befunde der Patientin beschrieben sowie die zahnärztliche Behandlung, die durchgeführt wurde, um die Anomalien zu korrigieren, die das ordnungsgemäße Funktionieren des stomatognathen Apparats verhindern. Die Behandlung wurde in drei Phasen unterteilt: restaurativ, um die Gesundheit der von Karies betroffenen Zahnorgane wiederherzustellen, präventiv, um die Entwicklung künftiger kariöser Läsionen zu vermeiden, und schließlich korrigierend mit dem Einsatz von Kieferexpandern wie der Hyrax, der Schwartz-Apparatur und der Gesichtsmaske.Es ist wichtig, dass diese Patienten von einem transdisziplinären Team behandelt werden, zu dem auch der Kinderzahnarzt gehören sollte, um die Lebensqualität dieser Patienten durch die Diagnose und Behandlung von Fehlstellungen und Anomalien der physiologischen Funktionen des stomatognathen Apparats in einem frühen Alter zu verbessern und zukünftige Komplikationen zu verhindern.

A 6-year-old female patient came to the UACJ disability clinic for consultation. The patient was diagnosed with facial femoral syndrome which manifests with a variable expressivity always accompanied by facial dysmorphism. The intra oral and extra oral findings present in the patient are described as well as the dental treatment provided in order to correct the anomalies that prevent the proper functioning of the stomatognathic apparatus. The treatment was divided into three phases, restorative to restore health to dental organs affected by caries, preventive avoiding the development of future carious lesions and finally corrective with the use of maxillary expanders such as hyrax, Schwartz appliance and facial mask. It is important that these patients are treated by a transdisciplinary team of which the pediatric dentist should be part in order to improve the quality of life of these patients through the diagnosis and treatment of malocclusions and abnormalities in the physiological functions of the stomatognathic apparatus at an early age, preventing future complications.

Paciente do sexo feminino, 6 anos de idade, compareceu ao ambulatório de deficiências da UACJ para consulta. Descrevem-se os achados intra-orais e extra-orais presentes na paciente, bem como o tratamento dentário efectuado com o objetivo de corrigir as anomalias que impedem o bom funcionamento do aparelho estomatognático. O tratamento foi dividido em três fases: restauradora para restabelecer a saúde dos órgãos dentários afectados pela cárie, preventiva para evitar o desenvolvimento de futuras lesões cariosas e, por fim, correctiva com a utilização de expansores maxilares como o hyrax, o aparelho de Schwartz e a máscara facial. É importante que estes pacientes sejam tratados por uma equipa transdisciplinar da qual o odontopediatra deve fazer parte, de forma a melhorar a qualidade de vida destes pacientes através do diagnóstico e tratamento de más oclusões e anomalias nas funções fisiológicas do aparelho estomatognático numa idade precoce, prevenindo complicações futuras.

Une patiente de 6 ans s'est présentée à la clinique du handicap de l'UACJ pour une consultation. La patiente a été diagnostiquée avec un syndrome facial fémoral, qui se manifeste avec une expressivité variable, toujours accompagné d'une dysmorphie faciale. Les observations intra-orales et extra-orales présentes chez la patiente sont décrites, ainsi que le traitement dentaire effectué afin de corriger les anomalies qui empêchent le bon fonctionnement de l'appareil stomatognathique. Le traitement a été divisé en trois phases : restauratrice pour rétablir la santé des organes dentaires affectés par les caries, préventive pour éviter le développement de futures lésions carieuses et enfin corrective avec l'utilisation d'expanseurs maxillaires tels que l'hyrax, l'appareil de Schwartz et le masque facial. Il est important que ces patients soient traités par une équipe transdisciplinaire dont le dentiste pédiatrique devrait faire partie afin d'améliorer la qualité de vie de ces patients grâce au diagnostic et au traitement des malocclusions et des anomalies des fonctions physiologiques de l'appareil stomatognathique à un âge précoce, prévenant ainsi les complications futures.

Una paziente femmina di 6 anni si è recata presso l'ambulatorio per disabili dell'UACJ per un consulto. Vengono descritti i reperti intraorali ed extraorali presenti nella paziente e il trattamento odontoiatrico effettuato per correggere le anomalie che impediscono il corretto funzionamento dell'apparato stomatognatico. Il trattamento è stato suddiviso in tre fasi: restaurativa per ripristinare la salute degli organi dentali colpiti dalla carie, preventiva per evitare lo sviluppo di future lesioni cariose e infine correttiva con l'uso di espansori mascellari come l'hyrax, l'apparecchio di Schwartz e la maschera facciale. È importante che questi pazienti siano trattati da un'équipe transdisciplinare, di cui l'odontoiatra pediatrico dovrebbe far parte, al fine di migliorare la qualità della vita di questi pazienti attraverso la diagnosi e il trattamento delle malocclusioni e delle anomalie delle funzioni fisiologiche dell'apparato stomatognatico in età precoce, prevenendo future complicazioni.
