The Adventure of the Lady Ursula is a comedic play in four acts, written by Anthony Hope in 1898. Set in the late 19th century, the play follows the exploits of Lady Ursula, a young and impetuous aristocrat who is determined to have an adventure. She convinces her friend, Sir George, to accompany her on a journey to a remote castle in the Scottish Highlands, where they hope to find excitement and romance. However, their plans are quickly derailed when they encounter a group of mysterious strangers who are also staying at the castle. Lady Ursula and Sir George find themselves embroiled in a series of increasingly absurd and hilarious situations as they try to uncover the secrets of their fellow guests.Along the way, they encounter a cast of eccentric characters, including a bumbling detective, a scheming countess, and a handsome but mysterious stranger. As the plot thickens, Lady Ursula and Sir George must use all their wit and cunning to unravel the mystery and save the day.Filled with witty dialogue, clever plot twists, and plenty of laughs, The Adventure of the Lady Ursula is a delightful romp through the world of Victorian comedy. It is a charming and entertaining play that will appeal to fans of classic literature, as well as anyone who enjoys a good laugh. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Sir Anthony Hope Hawkins, better known as Anthony Hope (9 February 1863 - 8 July 1933), was an English novelist and playwright. He was a prolific writer, especially of adventure novels but he is remembered predominantly for only two books: The Prisoner of Zenda (1894) and its sequel Rupert of Hentzau (1898). These works, "minor classics" of English literature, are set in the contemporaneous fictional country of Ruritania and spawned the genre known as Ruritanian romance, works set in fictional European locales similar to the novels. Zenda has inspired many adaptations, most notably the 1937 Hollywood movie of the same name. Hope wrote 32 volumes of fiction over the course of his lifetime and he had a large popular following.
