The focus of this memoir revolves around the author's journey as a quilter and the connections of that journey to her spirituality and that of her African Canadian and American sisters. Intermingled with these themes are their connections to important aspects of the African experience in the diaspora and the concomitant connections to the history of quilting in North America.
