Français //La quadrature du Volcan est l'aboutissement d'un reportage photographique effectué par Clive Kodrii dans la ville du Havre.Il est conçu comme une tentative décentrée de reconstruction chaotique du Volcan, l'oeuvre architecturale d'Oscar Niemeyer érigée dans le centre-ville.Les quatre sections prédominantes révèlent la recherche d'une courbe (élément géométrique privilégié par Oscar Niemeyer) ou celle d'une ligne droite (élément géométrique lié à la quadrature), en s'efforçant de trouver une harmonie, ou au contraire une discordance, entre ces deux figures. En reflétant des sites dénués de tout caractère pittoresque (le port, les docks, mais surtout les terminaux logistiques, les zones de stockage ou encore les réservoirs de l'industrie pétrochimique), ces sections interrogent le rapport complexe entre l'Homme et son environnement transfiguré par une société sans véritables limites (mondialisation, surproduction, surconsommation).La quadrature du Volcan, dont le titre évoque un sujet à la fois insoluble et presque irrationnel, mais qui suggère également une recherche persistante de la singularité et de la sensibilité, rend hommage à l'exceptionnelle inventivité et à la noble obstination des architectes contemporains. //English //La quadrature du Volcan (Squaring the Volcano) is the outcome of a photographic reporting made by Clive Kodrii in the city of Le Havre (France). It is conceived as an off-centre attempt of a chaotic reconstruction of Le Volcan (the Volcano), the architectural work of Oscar Niemeyer erected in the city centre.The four predominant sections reveal the search for a curve (geometric element favoured by Oscar Niemeyer) or that of a straight line (geometric element related to the squaring), striving to find a harmony, or on the contrary a discordance, between these two figures. By reflecting sites devoid of any picturesque features (the harbour, the docks, but especially the logistic terminals, the storage areas or the tanks of the petrochemical industry), these sections question the complex relationship between Man and his environment transfigured by a society without real limits (globalization, overproduction, overconsumption).La quadrature du Volcan, which title evokes a subject that is both insoluble and almost irrational, but which also suggests a persistent search for singularity and sensitivity, pays homage to the exceptional inventiveness and the noble obstinacy of contemporary architects.

Français //FYROM downtown est le point d'orgue d'un reportage photographique effectué dans l'ancienne Yougoslavie, plus précisément en République de Macédoine. Il est structuré en quatre sections, consacrées aux villes de Tetovo, Kumanovo, Veles et Skopje.En s'écartant volontairement des sites pittoresques ou touristiques, qu'ils soient naturels ou à fort potentiel architectural, FYROM downtown présente une Macédoine urbaine inattendue et surprenante, révélée par un regard singulier qui s'aventure notamment au coeur de lieux étranges, vides ou abandonnés.Les espaces du réel, pourtant empreints du quotidien, sont ici transformés en vecteurs d'abstraction : les éléments, lignes et textures issus de la matière physique acquièrent un sens nouveau et constituent des représentations graphiques au sens esthétique insoupçonné.Les associations de photographies, qui composent des facettes urbaines inédites, participent à l'interrogation du monde tangible. It is structured in four sections, dedicated to the cities of Tetovo, Kumanovo, Veles and Skopje.By voluntarily moving away from picturesque or tourist sites, whether natural or with high architectural potential, FYROM downtown presents an unexpected and surprising urban Macedonia, revealed by a singular look that ventures particularly into the heart of strange, empty or abandoned places.The spaces of reality, yet full of everyday life, are here transformed into axis of abstraction: the elements, lines and textures stemming from physical matter acquire a new meaning and establish graphic representations of an unsuspected aesthetic sense.The combinations of photographs, which compose unprecedented urban facets, participate in the interrogation of the tangible world.
