Das Wort Germanien sei ziemlich neu und erst vor einiger Zeit aufgekommen: die ersten, die den Rhein überschritten und die Gallier vertrieben, jetzt Tungrer, seien damals Germanen genannt worden, und allmählich habe sich der Name eines einzelnen Stammes und nicht eines Volkes behauptet.
