Este livro foi escrito para atender ao novo programa de Educação em Computação do Ano Um testado na escola secundária de Fiji durante o ano. É um novo livro didático e o primeiro desse tipo a ser escrito localmente. Espera-se que este livro seja útil na implementação do programa, mas deve ser entendido que não é o programa. O plano de estudos é a estrutura a ser seguida pelo professor, enquanto este livro didático é um recurso para o aluno. Portanto, será aceitável recorrer a outros materiais de recursos para obter mais informações. O livro didático não é o trabalho perfeito, pois foi preparado em muito pouco tempo, portanto, sugestões de alterações serão bem-vindas. Prevê-se que este livro minimize a quantidade de tempo gasto pelos professores na preparação das aulas e que mais tempo seja dedicado ao ensino e aprendizagem reais em sala de aula. Pode haver uma variedade de opiniões sobre o conteúdo dos tópicos, mas para o iniciante é o melhor que dá tempo e oportunidade de se familiarizar com o básico antes de prosseguir no campo de estudo com mais detalhes.

Ce manuel a été écrit pour répondre au nouveau programme d'enseignement informatique de première année testé dans l'école secondaire des Fidji pour l'année. Il s¿agit d¿un nouveau manuel scolaire et le premier du genre à être rédigé localement. On espère que ce livre sera utile à la mise en ¿uvre du programme, mais il faut comprendre qu'il ne s'agit pas du programme. Le programme est le cadre que l'enseignant doit suivre tandis que ce manuel est une ressource pour l'étudiant. Par conséquent, le recours à d¿autres ressources documentaires pour plus d¿informations sera acceptable. Le manuel n'est pas un travail parfait car il a été préparé dans un délai très court, c'est pourquoi les suggestions d'amendements seront les bienvenues. Il est prévu que ce livre réduise le temps consacré par les enseignants à la préparation des cours et que davantage de temps soit consacré à l'enseignement et à l'apprentissage en classe. Il peut y avoir une variété d'opinions sur le contenu des sujets, mais pour le débutant, c'est le meilleur qui donne le temps et l'opportunité de se familiariser avec les bases avant d'approfondir le domaine d'étude plus en détail.

Questo libro di testo è stato scritto per soddisfare il programma di educazione informatica del primo anno sperimentato nella scuola secondaria delle Fiji per l'anno in corso. È un nuovo libro di testo e il primo del suo genere ad essere scritto localmente. Si spera che questo libro sia utile per implementare il programma, ma è opportuno comprendere che non si tratta del programma. Il programma è la struttura da seguire per l'insegnante mentre questo libro di testo è una risorsa per lo studente. Pertanto sarà accettabile il passaggio ad altri materiali di risorsa per ulteriori informazioni. Il libro di testo non è un lavoro perfetto in quanto è stato preparato in un tempo molto breve, pertanto saranno benvenuti suggerimenti per modifiche. Si prevede che questo libro ridurrà al minimo il tempo dedicato agli insegnanti nella preparazione delle lezioni e che più tempo sarà dedicato all'insegnamento e all'apprendimento in classe. Potrebbero esserci opinioni diverse sul contenuto degli argomenti, ma per i principianti è il migliore perché dà il tempo e l'opportunità di acquisire familiarità con le nozioni di base prima di proseguire nel campo di studio in modo più dettagliato.

This text book has been written to cater for the new Year one Computer Education syllabus trialed in Fiji secondary school for the year . It is a new text book and the first of its kind to be written locally. It is hoped that this book will be useful in implementing the syllabus but it should be understood that it is not the syllabus. The syllabus is the framework for the teacher to follow while this text book is a resource for the student. Therefore departure to other resource materials for more information will be acceptable. The text book is not the perfect piece of work as it has been prepared in a very short time, therefore suggestions for amendments will be welcomed. It is anticipated that this book will minimize the amount of time for teachers in lesson preparation and more time will be devoted to actual classroom teaching and learning. There may be a variety of opinion about the content of the topics, but for the beginner it is the best which gives the time and opportunity to become familiar with the basics before pursuing further into the field of study in greater detail.

This project is aimed at designing and constructing an automatic voltage regulator that will give a constant output range from 220V to 250V for domestic use. It also has an inbuilt digital voltmeter which displays the magnitude of the input voltage. The AVR is divide into four mains parts; the supply, the autotransformer, the switching circuit and the display. The supply section has to do with the rectification and filtration of 220/230 volts from the supply mains into a lower and suitable voltage to drive the semiconductor devices. The transformer is a device having two coils of different t voltage levels. The switching circuits include the comparator, transistor and relay which determines the output of the AVR.
