You Choose Stupid! is a compilation of experiences, hard work and mistakes that have been reduced to words in a very short book. It is the product, not of the author's counseling, but garnished from the many wasted lives he has seen who have gotten involved in the criminal justice system. It is a menu of the mistakes that ruin these lives. The author has catalogued many of the mistakes people make in life which could have been avoided. With a vast wealth of experience, the author can, with all degree of certainty, say, "You follow this advice, you will have a good, long and prosperous life." It is the goal of this work to open the eyes of the readers, those in jail and prison, and those who are on the wrong path; that they can enjoy life instead of being locked up in cages just as the result of poor judgment. Stupid is a choice you make, don't do it!About the AuthorBorn in El Paso, Texas, and the product of two blue collar hardworking parents who would not accept failure as an option, Dave Robert Contreras went on to accomplish their and his goals. Graduating from high school in 1978, Dave then went on to earn his Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice in 1982 from the University of Texas at El Paso (Texas Western). Thereafter, he went on to Texas Tech University of Law in Lubbock, Texas, earning his Doctorates of Jurisprudence in Law. During his college years, Dave worked as a police officer in El Paso. After college, Dave went on to become a Special Agent in the FBI working in the narcotics unit. Upon leaving the Bureau, Dave dedicated his life to the practice of criminal law, both prosecuting and defending criminal cases. An avid researcher, Dave continued practicing law and was a facilitator on the faculty of the University of Phoenix where he taught various courses in criminal justice and justice and security. Dave has dedicated his life to a pursuit of justice no matter which side of the law the accused stood, albeit with a stoic sense of humor.
