La découverte du thème des crèches, qui a débuté en 1998 dans le village d'Igatu, Chapada Diamantina - Bahia, m'a incité à les photographier après quelques voyages dans ce site montagneux. Une fois les films développés, le sujet m'a incité à enquêter plus précisément sur les raisons pour lesquelles ces personnes réalisaient des crèches aussi audacieuses, riches en objets sacrés et profanes. L'enquête s'est déroulée entre 2000 et 2004, période durant laquelle j'ai obtenu de précieuses informations esthétiques, une oralité spontanée et des connaissances théoriques et scientifiques sur ce riche sujet. Ainsi, dans cette publication, je mets par écrit la recherche photographique et théorique, en espérant trouver chez les lecteurs qui connaîtront ce riche univers de fantaisie entre le sacré et le profane, un dialogue pour des échanges, des échanges de connaissances et d'appréciation de la culture populaire qui, à l'époque des grandes avancées technologiques, tend à se perdre, à laisser derrière elle l'imagination créative héritée par de nombreuses générations, que ce soit par son histoire orale ou par sa pratique quotidienne. Je pense donc qu'il est important que nous cherchions à préserver notre mémoire culturelle, nos origines et les origines de tous les peuples.

The discovery of the theme of Nativity scenes, which began in 1998, in the village of Igatu, Chapada Diamantina - Bahia, led me to photograph them after a few trips to that mountainous site. Once the films had been developed, the subject motivated me to investigate more precisely why these people made such bold nativity scenes, rich in sacred and profane objects. The investigation took place between 2000 and 2004, during which time I obtained precious aesthetic information, spontaneous orality and theoretical and scientific knowledge about the rich subject. So, in this publication, I bring the photographic and theoretical research written, hoping to find in the readers who will get to know this rich universe of fantasy between the sacred and the profane, a dialog for exchanges, exchanges of knowledge and appreciation of popular culture which, in times of great technological advance, tends to be lost, to leave behind the creative imagination inherited by many generations, either through its oral history or through its day-to-day practice. So I think it's important that we seek to preserve our cultural memory, our origins and the origins of all peoples.

El descubrimiento del tema de los belenes, que comenzó en 1998 en la aldea de Igatu, Chapada Diamantina - Bahía, me impulsó a fotografiarlos después de algunos viajes a ese lugar montañoso. Una vez reveladas las películas, el tema me motivó a investigar con más precisión por qué estas gentes hacían belenes tan atrevidos, ricos en objetos sagrados y profanos. La investigación tuvo lugar entre 2000 y 2004, tiempo durante el cual obtuve valiosa información estética, oralidad espontánea y conocimientos teóricos y científicos sobre el rico tema. Así, en esta publicación, traigo por escrito la investigación fotográfica y teórica, con la esperanza de encontrar en los lectores que conocerán este rico universo de fantasía entre lo sagrado y lo profano, un diálogo para el intercambio, el intercambio de conocimientos y la apreciación de la cultura popular que, en tiempos de grandes avances tecnológicos, tiende a perderse, a dejar atrás la imaginación creativa heredada por muchas generaciones, ya sea a través de su historia oral o de su práctica cotidiana. Por eso creo que es importante que tratemos de preservar nuestra memoria cultural, nuestros orígenes y los orígenes de todos los pueblos.

La scoperta del tema dei presepi, iniziata nel 1998 nel villaggio di Igatu, Chapada Diamantina - Bahia, mi ha spinto a fotografarli dopo alcuni viaggi in quel sito montuoso. Una volta sviluppate le pellicole, il soggetto mi ha spinto a indagare più precisamente sul perché questa gente realizzasse presepi così arditi, ricchi di oggetti sacri e profani. L'indagine si è svolta tra il 2000 e il 2004, periodo durante il quale ho ottenuto preziose informazioni estetiche, oralità spontanea e conoscenze teoriche e scientifiche su questo ricco argomento. In questa pubblicazione, quindi, riporto la ricerca fotografica e teorica scritta, sperando di trovare nei lettori che conosceranno questo ricco universo di fantasia tra il sacro e il profano, un dialogo di scambio, di conoscenza e di valorizzazione della cultura popolare che, in tempi di grande avanzamento tecnologico, tende a perdersi, a lasciarsi alle spalle l'immaginario creativo ereditato da molte generazioni, sia attraverso la sua storia orale che attraverso la sua pratica quotidiana. Credo quindi che sia importante cercare di preservare la nostra memoria culturale, le nostre origini e le origini di tutti i popoli.

Die Entdeckung des Themas Krippen, die 1998 im Dorf Igatu, Chapada Diamantina - Bahia, begann, veranlasste mich, sie nach einigen Reisen in diese Bergregion zu fotografieren. Nach der Entwicklung der Filme motivierte mich das Thema dazu, genauer zu untersuchen, warum diese Menschen so kühne Krippen anfertigten, die reich an heiligen und profanen Gegenständen sind. Die Untersuchung fand zwischen 2000 und 2004 statt, wobei ich wertvolle ästhetische Informationen, spontane Mündlichkeit sowie theoretische und wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse zu diesem reichhaltigen Thema gewann. In dieser Publikation bringe ich also die fotografischen und theoretischen Forschungen auf den Punkt und hoffe, dass die Leser, die dieses reiche Universum der Fantasie zwischen dem Heiligen und dem Profanen kennenlernen, einen Dialog für den Austausch, den Wissensaustausch und die Wertschätzung der Populärkultur finden, die in Zeiten des großen technologischen Fortschritts dazu neigt, verloren zu gehen und die schöpferische Vorstellungskraft zurückzulassen, die von vielen Generationen geerbt wurde, sei es durch ihre mündliche Überlieferung oder durch ihre tägliche Praxis. Daher halte ich es für wichtig, dass wir versuchen, unser kulturelles Gedächtnis, unsere Ursprünge und die Ursprünge aller Völker zu bewahren.
