(1984) zidentyfikowali 35 gatunków Bolivina i Brizalina. Zidentyfikowano pi¿¿ grup morfologicznych, które charakteryzowäy ró¿ne biotopy od szelfu po batial. Zauwäyli, ¿e ró¿nice w grupach maj¿ zwykle znaczenie ewolucyjne. Reyment (1959) a étudié des échantillons de forage en Afrique de l'Ouest qui ont donné entre autres le genre Bolivina, proposant sept nouvelles espèces. Son étude a confirmé que les bolivinides étaient des marqueurs stratigraphiques utiles. Il a assigné une tranche d'âge globale du Maastrichtien à l'Éocène pour le genre. Petters (1982) a présenté une documentation préliminaire sur les Bolivinitidae du bassin du delta du Niger et identifié 15 espèces. Il a proposé une zone Altistoma scalaris pour l 'intervalle de l' oligocène moyen - tardif au début du miocène. Il n'a pas établi les limites précises entre Bolivina et Brizalina. Dans une analyse régionale des bolivinitidés cénozoïques des bassins côtiers ouest africains (Côte d ¿Ivoire, Ghana, Nigéria, Gabon, Congo, Angola), Brun et al. (1984) ont identifié 35 espèces de Bolivina et de Brizalina. Cinq groupes morphologiques ont été identifiés qui caractérisaient différents biotopes du plateau au bathyal. Ils ont noté que les variations au sein des groupes avaient tendance à avoir une signification évolutive. Reyment (1959) studied borehole samples from West Africa that yielded the genus Bolivina amongst others, proposing seven new species. His study confirmed that the bolivinids were useful stratigraphical markers. He assigned an overall age range of Maastrichtian to Eocene for the genus. Petters (1982) presented a preliminary documentation of the Bolivinitidae of the Niger Delta basin, and identified 15 species. He proposed an Altistoma scalaris Zone for the mid - late Oligocene to Early Miocene interval. He did not establish the precise limits between Bolivina and Brizalina. In a regional analysis of the Cenozoic Bolivinitidae from west coastal African basins (Cote d'' Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Gabon, Congo, Angola), Brun et al. (1984) identified 35 species of Bolivina and Brizalina. Five morphological groups were identified that characterized different biotopes from shelf to bathyal. They noted that variations within the groups tended to have evolutionary significance.
