Many of the situations described in the novel are the events of the life of the author, his family and friends. Through the events that are described in Small Misir there is presented the way of life in the country, the challenges, the mentality and many other interesting things. After having read the novel you will see how self-destructible the extreme regional ideologies, patriarchal mentality and anti-values are. However, this novel has a happy ending.
