Research Paper (undergraduate) from the year 2011 in the subject Politics - Region: Africa, , course: AFRICAN STUDIES, language: English, abstract: "Giving honour to whom honour is due" is part of the desiderata in the modern Igbo Worldview. Without prejudice to the assertion of anthropologists like G.T. Basden( Among the Igbos of Southern Nigeria) that the Igbos are deeply religious and culturally rooted people who ardently revere their ancestors and respect their elders coupled with the well-researched views of historians like J.B.K.Onwubiko( The History of West Africa) that though the Igbos are politically nay ideologically speaking republican oriented, they allow themselves to be led and governed by elders and village heads, recent findings based chiefly on lived experiences of the modern Igbo mainstream Society tend to suggest that the Igbos are notorious for castigating, insulting, assaulting, disrespecting and dishonoring their elders, their opinion leaders, their religious leaders, their parents, their seniors, their teachers, their village heads, their titled men and women and their traditional leaders. The modern Igbo man prides himself as a know-it-all, I-too-know and imposing type of person. He tends to verbally, psychologically and physically bully others. [...]

Essay aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich Orientalistik / Sinologie - Islamwissenschaft, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: AbstractIn Islam there is no distinction or separation between thesacred and the secular. For Muslims, Islam covers everyaspect of life: religion and society. Even the minutest details ofpublic and private life are ventured to, such as the family, business, food, personal etiquette and hygiene. As a resultIslam has its prying eyes targeted into the private and publiclife of her members, especially the life of her female members.A study of the three major sources of Islam: The Koran,The Hadith, and their biological, legal and theologicalinterpretations shows that Islam was very much influenced bythe patriarchal Arabian culture. Inspite of the efforts by Islamto reform the sexist tendencies in this culture, her best effortshave been seen to be hardly good enough for women

Aristote, lui-même selon Nussbaum(1995:481) avait donc constaté que:Women and slaves were not full-fledged human beings[¿]; and since his politics were based on his view of human functioning, the failure of these beings to exhibit the desired mode of functioning, contributed to their political exclusion and oppression. Sigmund Freud, dans ses etudes (Freud 1963;37-38) de la psyché humaine, a signalé que:¿in the greater number of ambitious day dreams, too, we can discover a woman in some corner, for whom the dreamer performs all his heroic deeds, and at whose feet all his triumphs are to be laid. Research Paper (undergraduate) from the year 2011 in the subject Didactics - French - Literature, Works, LMU Munich (Fakultaet fuer Sprach- und Literaturwissenschaften), course: French - Pedagogy, Didactics, Literature Studies, language: English, abstract: This approach may at first sight appear like a linguistic revolt or rebellion since it distorts and massacres the French vocabulary and grammar. The goal of Ahmadou Kourouma and his colleagues is to prove that the French language cannot open up the African Weltanschauung (World view). The truth is simply that the structure of the French language fails to describe and express the African thought. This is exactly what the Canadians, the Swiss and the Belgians observed that made them invent Canadian French, Swiss French, and Belgian French. Elsewhere in European Studies I have advocated this intercultural dialogue in German Studies (Germanistik and Interkulturelle Germanistik) as a way out in the poor performance of the dissemination of German language, literature and culture. Even in English, we have the Queens English, the American English and the African pidgin English. Africans can as well have African French. Each writer faced with the realities of myriads of African misery: Colonialism, slavery, neo ¿ colonialism, civil and religious wars, cannot afford the luxury of l¿Art pour l¿Art. Ahmadou Kourouma has to use the French language to mobilize his people for a way forward. He needed to bear a genuine testimony to the situation of his people, but he could not achieve this mobilization of his uneducated people adequately faced with the dilemma of using a foreign language.
