La madre consintió en ello con el mayor placer, y la Reina se llevó a la joven. En cuanto llegaron a palacio la condujo a tres cuartos que estaban llenos de arriba abajo de un lino muy hermoso. -Hílame todo ese lino -le dijo-, y cuando esté concluido, te casaré con mi hijo mayor. Un labrador tenía dos hijos, el mayor de los cuales era muy listo y entendido y sabía muy bien a qué atenerse en todo, pero el menor era tonto y no entendía ni aprendía nada y cuando le veían las gentes decían: -Trabajo tiene su padre con él. Cuando había algo que hacer, tenía siempre que mandárselo al mayor, pero si su padre le mandaba algo siendo de noche, o le enviaba al oscurecer cerca del cementerio, o siendo ya oscuro al camino o cualquier otro lugar sombrío, le contestaba siempre: -¡Oh!, no, padre, yo no voy allí: ¡tengo miedo! Pues era muy miedoso. Si por la noche referían algún cuento alrededor de la lumbre, en particular si era de espectros y fantasmas, decían todos los que le oían: -¡Qué miedo! Pero el menor, que estaba en un rincón escuchándolos no podía comprender lo que querían decir: -Siempre dicen ¡miedo, miedo!, yo no sé lo que es miedo: ese debe ser algún oficio del que no entiendo una palabra. Mas un día le dijo su padre: -Oye tú, el que está en el rincón: ya eres hombre y tienes fuerzas suficientes para aprender algo con que ganarte la vida. Das berühmte Märchen um Eitelkeit und LiebeStefan Kaminski ist bekannt für seine wandelbare Stimme. Das zeigt er auch eindrucksvoll bei dieser Märchenlesung des Grimm-Klassikers "Der Froschkönig oder Der eiserne Heinrich", wenn er Königstochter wie quakendem Frosch stets treffend seine Stimme leiht.Jacob (1785-1863) und Wilhelm Grimm (1786-1859) studierten in Marburg Rechtswissenschaften. 1830 erhielten sie einen Ruf an die Universität Göttingen. Dort gehörten sie zu den "Göttinger Sieben". 1841 ernannte sie König Friedrich Wilhelm IV. von Preußen zu Mitgliedern der Preußischen Akademie der Wissenschaften in Berlin. Von dem Kreis der "Heidelberger Romantik" angeregt, gaben sie Kinder- und Hausmärchen und Deutsche Sagen heraus. Das letzte umfangreiche gemeinsame Werk der Brüder war das seit 1852 erschienene, zu ihren Lebzeiten nicht mehr vollendete Deutsche Wörterbuch.
