For Jalen Harkness, the challenges of a new and bullied student provides a teaching challenge which threatens his own desire to develop and grow as a historian.James Gholson is a product of Fairmont High School in the D.C. metro area. He has served as clarinetist with the U.S Navy Band, Professor of Clarinet at the University of Memphis, and Principal Clarinetist with the Memphis Symphony. Currently, he is a board member with the Eroica Ensemble of Memphis and performs with that group. He has authored Feets, Tight, Reading Rampage, and The Seasoned Clarinetist.
