Today the FAO is still the only global intergovernmental organization with a broad mandate in governing the world¿s food and agricultural system, although with the presence of numerous other players at the regional and global levels, its position is substantially different than in prior decades. The idea of an international organization for food and agriculture emerged in the late 19th and early 20th century advanced primarily by the US agriculturalist and activist David Lubin.

S¿ to: wzrost PKB w rolnictwie, wydatki rz¿dowe na ochron¿ socjaln¿, zmiana stopy ubóstwa i zmiana p¿ac w sektorze ry¿u. Bangladesz osi¿gn¿¿ milenijny cel dotycz¿cy niedo¿ywienia na pocz¿tku lat 2000. Niedowaga i zahamowanie wzrostu gospodarczego równie¿ zmniejszy¿y si¿ w latach 2007-08-2012-13, aczkolwiek powoli. Wzrost PKB w rolnictwie os¿ab¿ drugi rok z rz¿du, osi¿gaj¿c poziom 2,17 % w latach 2012-2013, a wydatki na ochron¿ socjaln¿ jako procent PKB nadal spadäy, osi¿gaj¿c poziom 2,23 % w latach 2012-2013 - w obu przypadkach nie osi¿gaj¿c wyznaczonych celów. Wskänik ubóstwa zmniejszy¿ si¿ zadowalaj¿co, osi¿gaj¿c 31,5 % w 2010 r.

This book includes the review of the previous studies conducted on different aspects on the schemes of rural development , food security and Agro ¿industries. Agro based industry is regarded as the sunrise sector of the Indian economy in view of its large potential for growth and likely socio economic impact specifically on employment and income generation. Some estimates suggest that in developed countries, approximately 14 per cent of the total work force is engaged in agro-processing sector directly or indirectly. However, in India, only about 3 per cent of the work force finds employment in this sector revealing its underdeveloped state and vast untapped potential for employment. There is no denying that India has to live with the problem of unemployment for many years to come. Therefore need arises to make all over development among all sections of the society especially in rural agro based industrial units.
