Rudolf Steiner und seine Anthroposophie stehen in der öffentlichen Wahrnehmung als solitäre Phänomene da. Der abgeschlossen erscheinende Kosmos seines Werkes macht es für Nachfolger und Kritiker gleichermaßen zu einem exklusiven Bezugspunkt. Dabei hat Steiner selbst zahlreiche Bezüge und Brückenschläge zu vorwiegend abendländischen Denktraditionen geschaffen. Sowohl philosophiegeschichtlich als auch bis in Steiners eigene Gegenwart hinein lassen sich breite und fruchtbare Diskussionslinien finden, auf die die Anthroposophie bezogen werden kann.
