Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2016 im Fachbereich BWL - Revision, Prüfungswesen, Note: 2,7, Universität Bremen, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Zunächst wird dargelegt, wie die Anforderungen an den Prüfungsausschuss festgelegt werden. Anschließend wird ein Überblick darüber vermittelt, wie ein Prüfungsausschuss zu errichten und zu besetzen ist. Eine Skizze des Aufgabenspektrums schließt sich dem an. Im vierten Kapitel wird die Interaktion zwischen Prüfungsausschuss und Abschlussprüfers anhand des zeitlichen Prüfungsverlaufs dargestellt. Abschließend werden wesentliche Veränderungen zusammengefasst und Ausblicke zum Stand der Forschung aufgezeigt. Ziel ist es, einen Überblick bisheriger Interdependenzen aufzuzeigen und Anregungen zur weiteren Verbesserung zu geben. Aufgrund von Finanzkrisen in den letzten Jahren nimmt die Bedeutung von der Unternehmensüberwachung immer mehr an Bedeutung zu. Dadurch steigen jedoch auch die immer komplexer werdenden Anforderungen an den Aufsichtsrat. Dies führt vermehrt zur Bildung von Prüfungsausschüssen. Prüfungsausschüsse stammen aus dem angelsächsischem Raum, die in Deutschland vor einigen Jahren importiert wurden. Anders als im angelsächsischem Raum ist bei deutschen Aktiengesellschaften die Unternehmensleitung von der Unternehmensüberwachung getrennt. Der Vorstand ist dabei das Leitungsorgan und der Aufsichtsrat das Überwachungsorgan. Dahingehend wäre der Prüfungsausschuss als weiteres Überwachungsorgan entbehrlich, da seine Aufgaben dem Aufsichtsrat gesetzlich obliegen. Angesichts der bereits erwähnten Steigerung der Komplexität von Überwachungsaufgaben empfiehlt der Deutsche Corporate Governance Kodex (DCGK) die Bildung von Prüfungsausschüssen als Entlastung der Aufsichtsräte. Weil die Bildung von Prüfungsausschüssen in Deutschland noch sehr neu ist und ein ausländisches Überwachungsorgan in das deutsche Recht integriert wurde, beschäftigt sich diese wissenschaftliche Ausarbeitung mit der Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem Prüfungsausschuss großer kapitalmarktorientierter Unternehmen vom öffentlichen Interesse und dem Abschlussprüfer. Gerade durch die zunehmende Bedeutung des Prüfungsausschusses und seiner Erweiterung des Aufgabenspektrums ist er auf eine effiziente und qualitative Beziehung zum Abschlussprüfer angewiesen.

Seminar paper from the year 2014 in the subject Didactics for the subject English - History of Literature, Eras, grade: 1,0, University of Cologne, language: English, abstract: This paper deals with the spaces, methods and contents of learning and studying in medieval England.About 120 schools are known to have existed in England during the period between the Norman Conquest in 1066 and the Reformation in 1517 (Orme 1976: XI). However, such numbers must remain vague and can only offer limited insight into medieval English learning. This is partly due to the relatively low amount of source material, but also the wide range of highly differing institutions which were all referred to with the term ¿school¿ (c.f. ibid.: 2f). Still, some distinctions can be made and similarities can be found in almost all medieval English schools, mostly involving the curricula, manners of education and the people teaching at and attending schools. Additionally, academic institutions had a high social impact on their respective surroundings (c.f. ibid.: 32f).Grant pleads against the underestimation of medieval scientific knowledge by stating that, ¿contrary to prevailing opinion, the roots of modern science were planted in the ancient and medieval world long before the Scientific Revolution¿ (Grant: I). Similar to detecting distinct school-forms, the respective fields of medieval science are hard to define; there was medical as well as artistic and literary knowledge and science did not necessarily involve a strict reading of the Bible (c.f. ibid.: 33f, 22). Interestingly enough, English was not as commonly used in scientific contexts as it is today ¿ the language of science was Latin and therefore its most important basis (c.f. Taavitsainen a. Pahta 2004: XV). Many ancient manuscripts were not only rediscovered, but also translated and adapted, providing medieval scholars with thought-provoking impulse (c.f. Horobin a. Smith 2002: 167). Still, most of these sources were heavily fragmented and religious schools and monasteries remained the rather enclosed centers of knowledge (c.f. ibid. & Grant: 22).

Seminar paper from the year 2013 in the subject Didactics for the subject English - Miscellaneous, grade: 1,0, University of Cologne, language: English, abstract: Ancient Egypt and the Gothic go well together ¿ or to be more precise, modern images of what most consider to be a magical and enchanted, rather exotic period in history appear to find their most touching expression in what is widely considered to be a typical gothic manner of representation.This paper deals with Stephen Sommers¿s movie ¿The Mummy¿, released in 1999 (c.f. International Movie Database, IMDb). It might be considered a Blockbuster, as it was able to not only regain but more than double its budget within the opening weekend alone (c.f. ibid.). What are the reasons for such a success? Two of them may already be found in the opening sentences of this introduction ¿ ¿The Mummy¿ successfully unites both the audience¿s visions of ancient Egypt and a typical ¿ covert, but still tangible ¿ gothic way of narration and style. However, another layer has been added that seems to have contributed to the movie¿s success at international box-offices: the idea of an eternal love obviously doomed from its very beginning. It is this fatal love between a high priest and the Pharaoh¿s mistress that represents the center of this paper¿s argumentation. It will be examined whether this love can be called the ¿prima causä (Conrad 1973: 17) of the catastrophe that follows it. Furthermore, it will be shown how well the love-story fits into the film¿s general story and to its gothic appeal.In preparation for this discussion, the paper enlists criteria of what is considered being a representative gothic novel and compares these criteria with characteristics of the movie. Additionally, the movie¿s villainous couple and their love will be examined: Can he be seen as a typical gothic villain and is he ¿a se¿ (ibid: 18) evil or are the origins of his villainy to be sought in his environment? Does she truly love him or only see him as her possibility to oppose society and escape into a better future? In this context, the paper will also explore some current theories about the Byronic hero and heroine and their representation in literature. Again, the characteristics of this literary figure will be listed and compared to those of Imhotep and Anck Su Namun ¿ it will then be examined whether the two of them can be read as such archetypes of literature.

Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich Weltgeschichte - Frühgeschichte, Antike, Note: 1,7, Universität zu Köln, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Eine historische Betrachtung Alexanders III. ist oftmals mit der Suche nach seinen Eltern verknüpft. Auch wenn gerade die moderne Forschung großes Interesse an seiner Mutter Olympias zu zeigen scheint, konzentriert diese Arbeit sich hauptsächlich auf seinen Vater, Philipp II., und seine Beziehung zu dem Sohn, der einmal ¿der Große¿ genannt werden sollte. Dabei werden Alexanders Kindheit und Jugend ebenso beleuchtet, wie sein Verhältnis zu den Veteranen, die bereits unter seinem Vater gedient hatten; ein Aspekt, der besonders im Hinblick auf den Übergang zwischen Philipps und Alexanders Regierung sehr untersuchenswert ist.

Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2012 im Fachbereich Geschichte Europas - Mittelalter, Frühe Neuzeit, Note: 1.7, Universität zu Köln, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Im Zentrum dieser Arbeit steht der Bezug Aachens auf Karl den Großen. Der Herrscherkult in der ehemaligen Königspfalz und seine Entwicklung wird ebenso untersucht, wie dessen Instrumentalisierung im Wandel der Zeit. Dabei wird auch dargestellt, dass die heutige Form des Karlsgedenkens historische Wurzeln aufweist. Der zeitliche und personelle Rahmen erstreckt sich dabei von der Zeit Karls des Großen und dessen direkter Nachfolger über die Friedrich Barbarossas und Karls IV. bis zu der Napoleon Bonapartes und des Nationalsozialismus. Moderne Karlsbezüge werden abschließend ebenfalls berücksichtigt.
