Una de las preocupaciones de los organismos internacionales del sector salud, es que muchos de los agentes causantes de las enfermedades han evolucionado y se han adaptado a nuevos escenarios; por ejemplo, frecuentemente se habla de la mutación de los virus o las bacterias causantes de enfermedades como la gripe o la tuberculosis.
