This book identifies and discusses research directions, challenges and achievements in contemporary geography. It also documents the most current theoretical and methodological considerations undertaken by scientists representing various sub-disciplines of geography with particular reference to human geography. It was assumed that the thematic structure of the currently active International Geographical Union (IGU) problem commissions corresponds to the most relevant and current research directions in geography. Reflecting this assumption, the book consists of 14 chapters contributed by geographers representing 14 problem commissions of the IGU, which allows us to examine geography from different perspectives and to provide the reader with a complete overview of contemporary research issues in human geography. The first part discusses contemporary research problems and issues related to scientific methodology and achievements of selected geographical sub-disciplines, including urban geography, agricultural geography, transport geography, and political geography, among others. The second part focuses on the interdisciplinarity of geography and the topics of global dimension undertaken by geographers such as global change, GIS and geospatial technology, marginalization, and environmental change. This part also discusses the internal relations between geographical specializations and their links with other related sciences, including geology, sociology, and economics. The third part discusses the holistic approaches of geography applied to particular regions, territories, or conditions (Africa, costal systems, geomorphology and local development).

This is Book III of Michael Meadows' exciting Gods of Olympus series. Book II of the series, Interlude of the Dragon, presented the story of the unique crew of the colony spaceship, Olympus, during their virtual reincarnation into the sword-and-sorcery world of the Intermountain Valley. Book III of the series presents more of the back histories of two of those characters: the magician, Yokesh Singh, and the former Eastern Empire soldier, Ramsey Hua. Yokesh's journey from a disgraced, assistant professor of fire-realm magic at the Cassandra Collage for Magic Arts to the principal magician in the small village of Olympus Landing involved a scandal, battles with river pirates, and a close encounter with the mysterious river fairies. Ramsey's transformation from an injured stranger to respected trader would require first earning the trust of his partners and resolving a surprising conflict with the legendary high elves.

The immortal crew of the unique spaceship, Olympus, is faced with two hundred and fifty years of travel before they reach their intended destination of the Oberlin star system. Rather than sleep the centuries away, they have decided to be reincarnated into a sword-and-sorcery world of their own creation: a world filed with adventures, dangers, and magical creatures. For the six duplicated, human personalities, this new world offers the opportunity to fulfill the dreams of their previous mortal lives and to explore the 'paths not taken'. For the two sentient, AI personalities, it offers their first opportunity to truly experience what life has to offer. Whatever role they select-trader or magician, healer or warrior, teacher or craftsman-the Mother and the Fates gradually draw them back together over the course of their new lives in the Intermountain Valley.

It all started with a message appearing on my tablet from an institute I had never heard of wanting to talk to me about a totally undefined job. Based on the subject line of 'Professional Services Opportunity', my first thought was that it was just another get-rich-quick spam. Had I followed my initial instinct to hit delete without opening it, things would have worked out very differently for me--very differently indeed. But I did read it, and I was intrigued.It's usually impossible to pinpoint the precise moment when the course of your entire life is irrevocably changed, but in this case, it was the exact moment I selected open. That single, simple action was one of the most important things that I have ever done. With it began my journey to adventure, romance, immortality, and infamy. I would gain a new world and lose everything I held dear in this one. Thanks to whatever gods there be, I did.

This study concludes with suggestions for addressing media practices to reconcile indigenous and non-indigenous people. This study will appeal to students and scholars studying mass media, particularly journalism and public relations, Australian history, and sociology.
