Inhaltsangabe:Gang der Untersuchung: Ziel der Diplomarbeit ist es, die Existenz der Unternehmung ?Wächter-Bestattungen GmbH? durch die Entwicklung einer Marketingkonzeption im Bestattungsgewerbe auf lange Sicht zu sichern und seine Auftragslage zu steigern. Dies soll durch die Entwicklung und spätere Einführung eines strategischen Marketings zur aktiven Gestaltung des Absatzmarktes erfolgen, um auf den stärker werdenden Verdrängungswettbewerb und Druck zu günstigeren Bestattungen reagieren zu können. Durch Befragungen der Firmeninhaber und deren Mitarbeiter, sowie eines kooperierenden Bestattungsunternehmens in einer Nachbargemeinde, werden die Rahmenbedingungen, welche das unternehmerische Handeln des Bestatters bestimmen, aufgezeigt. Unter Berücksichtigung zukünftiger Entwicklungen werden Marketingziele erarbeitet und festgelegt, sowie auch Maßnahmen zu deren Durchsetzung entwickelt. Das Hauptaugenmerk liegt hierbei auf der Erschließung neuer Märkte (Nachbargemeinden) und Gewinnung neuer Kunden. Die Planung des Marketing-Mix beschränkt sich auf die Produkt-, Preis- und Kommunikationspolitik. Auf die Distributionspolitik wird nicht eingegangen, da sich diese mit Güterversorgungsprozessen beschäftigt. Das Gewerbe des Bestatters ist zwar den handwerksähnlichen Betrieben zugeordnet, erfüllt aber immer mehr die Funktion eines Dienstleisters, dessen Distribution durch Gesetze, Verordnungen und dem erteilten Einzelauftrag vorgegeben ist. Die Besonderheiten der Rahmenbedingungen des Absatzmarktes liegen in der Sensibilität des Themas selbst. Während des Alltags möchte sich niemand mit dem Thema Tod und den sich hieraus ergebenden Konsequenzen für die Hinterbliebenen beschäftigen bzw. direkt darauf angesprochen werden. Eine taktvolle Zurückhaltung bei der Werbung ist daher unumgänglich. Die Wettbewerbsregeln des Bundesverbandes des Deutschen Bestattungsgewerbes e. V., auf welche später noch eingegangen wird, sollen Gewährleistung dafür sein, daß das sittliche Gefühl und der Anstand bei Werbemaßnahmen nicht verletzt werden. Zum anderen hat im ländlichen Raum der Kreisstadt Ludwigshafen a. Rh. fast jede Gemeinde einen Bestatter. In der Regel wendet sich im Trauerfall so gut wie jedes Gemeindemitglied an den ortsansässigen Bestatter, da dieser den meisten Einwohnern persönlich bekannt ist und das notwendige Vertrauen der Hinterbliebenen besitzt.
