I had a choice of several subjects for my dissertation, but Guinea being a new democracy and open to new investors, especially mining investors, deserved to know what made it so attractive. So, I chose the legal framework for mining in Guinea, and the protection afforded to foreign investment. As the world's leading bauxite reserve, Guinea has set up various instruments to promote investment, such as the agency for the promotion of private investment (APIP). Indeed, it has been winning the confidence of investors since 2010, and 6 years later, the World Bank's Doing Business report ranked it 6th among African countries with the strongest progress. In this book, we show several factors that play a part in making Guinea the new destination for mining companies, from the promotion of private and foreign investment to the tax advantages, legislative means and favorable investment framework.

Tinha vários temas à escolha para a minha dissertação, mas sendo a Guiné uma nova democracia e estando aberta a novos investidores, especialmente investidores mineiros, merecia saber o que a tornava atractiva. Assim, escolhi o quadro jurídico da exploração mineira na Guiné e a proteção concedida ao investimento estrangeiro. Sendo a primeira reserva mundial de bauxite, a Guiné criou uma série de instrumentos para promover o investimento, como a Agência para a Promoção do Investimento Privado (APIP). De facto, tem vindo a ganhar a confiança dos investidores desde 2010 e, 6 anos mais tarde, o relatório Doing Business do Banco Mundial classificou-a em 6.º lugar entre os países africanos com maior crescimento. Neste livro, mostramos vários factores que influenciam o facto de a Guiné ser o novo destino das empresas mineiras, desde a promoção do investimento privado e estrangeiro através de benefícios fiscais e meios legislativos e de um quadro favorável ao investimento.

Como primera reserva mundial de bauxita, Guinea ha creado una serie de instrumentos para promover la inversión, como la Agencia para la Promoción de la Inversión Privada (APIP). Avevo la possibilità di scegliere diversi argomenti per la mia tesi, ma la Guinea, essendo una nuova democrazia e aperta a nuovi investitori, soprattutto minerari, meritava di sapere cosa la rendeva attraente. Ho quindi scelto il quadro giuridico dell'attività mineraria in Guinea e la protezione offerta agli investimenti stranieri. In qualità di prima riserva mondiale di bauxite, la Guinea ha creato una serie di strumenti per promuovere gli investimenti, come l'Agenzia per la promozione degli investimenti privati (APIP). Ich hatte die Wahl zwischen mehreren Themen für meine Diplomarbeit, aber da Guinea eine neue Demokratie ist und offen für neue Investoren, vor allem im Bergbau, ist, sollte man wissen, was die Attraktivität des Landes ausmacht. So entschied ich mich für den rechtlichen Rahmen des Bergbaus in Guinea und den Schutz, der ausländischen Investitionen geboten wird. Da Guinea die größte Bauxitreserve der Welt besitzt, hat das Land verschiedene Instrumente zur Förderung des Bergbaus geschaffen, wie z. B. die Agentur zur Förderung privater Investitionen (APIP). Die Weltbank hat Guinea in ihrem Doing-Business-Bericht auf Platz 6 der am schnellsten wachsenden Länder Afrikas gesetzt und das Vertrauen der Investoren seit 2010 gewonnen. In diesem Buch zeigen wir mehrere Faktoren auf, die dazu beitragen, dass Guinea das neue Ziel von Bergbauunternehmen ist, von der Förderung privater und ausländischer Investitionen über Steuervorteile bis hin zu gesetzlichen Regelungen und günstigen Rahmenbedingungen für Investitionen.

Dans cet ouvrage , nous montrons plusieurs facteurs qui entrent en jeu dans le fait que la Guinée soit la nouvelle destination des sociétés minières , de la promotion de l'investissement privé et étranger en passant par les avantages fiscaux et les moyens législatifs et cadre d'investissement favorable .
