"Casse-Noisette, fêlé" fait la lumière sur le monde intérieur de Marie, le personnage principal de l'histoire de "Casse-Noisette" de E. T. A. Hoffmann, à travers une interprétation psychanalytique principalement classique. Cette ¿uvre est censée susciter certaines réactions chez le lecteur, dont l'identification à Marie, une réflexion sur sa propre enfance, ainsi qu'une compréhension globale, mais holistique, du pourquoi nous faisons ce que nous faisons. Enfin, cette interprétation tente également d'expliquer, à travers l'exemple de "Casse-Noisette", le phénomène moderne du comportement de "binge-watching" des séries, et pourquoi tant de personnes le manifestent aujourd'hui.

"The Nutcracker, cracked" sheds light into the inner world of Marie, the main character from the story of "The Nutcracker" by E. T. A. Hoffmann, through a mainly classical psychoanalytic interpretation. This work is meant to elicit certain reactions from the reader, some being identification with Marie, reflection over one's own childhood, as well as an overall, but holistic sense of understanding of why we do what we do. Finally, this interpretation also tries to explain, through the example of "The Nutcracker", the modern phenomena of the series binge-watching behaviour, and why so many people display it today.
