First published in 1925, "Carry On, Jeeves" is P. G. Wodehouse's third collection of Jeeves and Bertie Wooster stories. All of the stories included in this volume first appeared in periodicals like the "Saturday Evening Post" including some that are reworked versions of stories that appeared in the 1919 collection "My Man Jeeves". In this volume, readers will find some of Wodehouse's most famous tales of the hapless and wealthy Bertie, his equally clueless friends, and his wise and pragmatic valet, Jeeves. The first story in the book, "Jeeves Takes Charge", introduces Jeeves to Bertie's life when he replaces his previous valet, who had been stealing from him. Many of the stories take place in New York and familiar characters, such as Aunt Dahlia, Bingo Little, Anatole, and Sir Roderick Glossop, make appearances in this collection. Wodehouse's tales are engaging, clever, laugh-out-loud funny, and enjoyably English in their sensibilities and dialogue. Jeeves, with his complicated plans and ability to solve seemingly any problem, is at his plucky best in this classic collection of Wodehouse stories. This edition is printed on premium acid-free paper.

2019 Reprint of 1923 Edition. P. G. Wodehouse was born in England in 1881 and in 1955 became an American citizen. He published more than ninety books and had a successful career writing lyrics and musicals in collaboration with Jerome Kern, Guy Bolton, and Cole Porter, among others. Although the main character in this novel is Psmith, the bulk of the story takes place at Blandings Castle and involves various intrigues within the extended family of Lord Emsworth, the absent-minded elderly Earl. The plot is typical Wodehouse, with Psmith inveigling himself into the idyllic castle, where we find the usual crop of girls to woo, crooks to foil, imposters to unmask, haughty aunts to baffle and valuable necklaces to steal. Among the players is Psmith's good friend Mike, married to Phyllis and in dire need of some financial help; the ever-suspicious Rupert Baxter is on watch as usual. The item which the plot revolves around is the necklace (nearly all Blandings plots revolve around an item which needs to be recovered). This book boasts a plot complicated and farcical even by Wodehouse's standards. We can expect dark conspiracies, missing items, frantic attempts to put those items in the right hands, trouble with flowerpots, rages from Blandings' head gardener Angus McAllister, absent-mindedness from Lord Emsworth and best of all a visit from literary types to the castle and more!

Comprising of seven works of short fiction, ranging in genres from crime to tender romance, Death at the Excelsior and Other Stories depict tales of mystery and love with humor. Featuring some of P.G Wodehouse's most famous characters, four of the seven stories follow the misadventures of Jeeves and Bertie or Reggie Pepper. When a friend needs help convincing his uncle to approve of his bride-to-be, Jeeves and Bertie concoct a plan that includes the use of romance novels in Jeeves in the Springtime. Reggie Pepper's trouble takes center stage in The Test Case, when his lover voices her doubts that they could ever marry. Other stories within the collection introduce new characters, including a clever and witty young woman named Eve in The Best Sauce. Working as a paid companion to a woman with a stormy temper, Eve is unhappy but is settled in her bleak condition. However, when a man from her past, Peter Rayner, shows up in hopes to marry Eve, she devises a plan of petty pranks to scare him out of the house. Finally, in the title story, Death at the Excelsior, depicts a thrilling murder-mystery. When a previously healthy sailor is found dead in the Excelsior boarding house, Detective Snyder and his assistant, Oakes, must catch the killer before they strike again. Assembled posthumously, Death at the Excelsior and Other Stories features classic works of P.G Wodehouse's short fiction, sampling from each genre he mastered. With simple language and excellent description, Death at the Excelsior and Other Stories serves as a perfect introduction to P.G Wodehouse and his beloved characters. This edition of Death at the Excelsior and Other Stories is now presented in an easy-to-read font and with a fun, eye-catching cover to cater to contemporary audiences.

2019 Reprint of 1923 Edition. Review"You should read Wodehouse when you are well, and when you're poorly; when you're travelling, and when you're not; when you're feeling clever, and when you're feeling utterly dim. Wodehouse always lifts your spirits, no matter how high they happen to be already." --Lynne Truss""You don't analyze such sunlit perfection, you just bask in its warmth and splendor." --Stephen Fry""Wodehouse's idyllic world can never stale. He will continue to release future generations from captivity that may be more irksome than our own. He has made a world for us to live in and delight in." --Evelyn Waugh"Wodehouse is arguably one of the funniest English language authors as well as a prolific and unflagging deliverer of fun that the human race, a glum crowd, has yet produced.About the AuthorP.
