Our research focused on the current state of water, hygiene and sanitation (WASH) in the KAHEMBE district (city of Goma). The hypothesis was that the KAHEMBE neighbourhood, like other neighbourhoods in the city of GOMA, has a problem with access to drinking water, basic hygiene and environmental sanitation: 1. A very low level of household income in KAHEMBE; 2. the population's inadequate knowledge of hygiene, sanitation and water treatment; 3. the lack of water treatment, hygiene and sanitation facilities and tools; The objectives of the study were to assess the current situation regarding water, hygiene and sanitation in the KAHEMBE district, and to evaluate the level of knowledge, attitude and practice of the district's population regarding water, hygiene and basic sanitation.

Unsere Forschung befasste sich mit der Situation im Bereich Wasser, Hygiene und Sanitärversorgung (WASH) im Viertel KAHEMBE (Goma-Stadt). Notre recherche a porté sur l¿état de lieu sur l'eau, hygiène et assainissement «WASH» dans le quartier KAHEMBE (ville de Goma). L¿hypothèse était le Quartier KAHEMBE à l¿instar d¿autres quartiers de la ville de GOMA a un problème à l¿accès à l¿eau potable, à l¿hygiène de base et à de l¿assainissement du milieu, cette situation serait due à: 1. Un niveau de revenu très bas des ménages de KAHEMBE; 2. Des connaissances insuffisantes de la population sur l¿hygiène, d¿assainissement et du traitement de l¿eau; 3. L¿absence des ouvrages et outils de traitement de l¿eau d¿hygiène et d¿assainissement; Les objectifs de l¿étude étaient d¿évaluer l¿état de lieu sur l¿eau, hygiène et assainissement dans le Quartier KAHEMBE, évaluer le niveau de connaissance, attitude, et pratique de la population du quartier sur l¿eau, hygiène et assainissement de base.
