This study of his life and work sheds light on the evolving understanding of sanitary science during the 19th century and of the need for regulation and enforcement of the chemical industries.

This volume provides a detailed analysis of Vonnegut's short fiction and shows that his short stories are an integral part of his overall canon. The short stories do not simply precede Vonnegut's novels.
