This open access book explores climate change impacts, adaptation, and mitigation in Central Asia and discusses policy options for the Central Asian governments. The book focuses on Kazakhstan's transition path. It describes the type of market economy that has evolved in the country since 1991. The Varieties of Capitalism approach and a core - periphery analytical framework are applied to classify the model of capitalist economy in the country. The research design is based on qualitative interview study.
