Synthesis of indanone based spirocyclic molecules following 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction consists of two chapter. Chapter I deals withone pot, three component synthesis of spiroindenoquinoxaline pyrrolidine fused nitrochromene derivatives following 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition. Chaapter II deals with one pot, three component 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition: Regio and diastereoselective synthesis of spiropyrrolidinyl indenoquinoxaline based chromene nitrile derivatives.

¿CHROMENE BASED SPIROCYCLIC MOLECULES AND BIOLOGICAL STUDIES¿ has been divided into three chapters. Chapter I describes diastereoselective synthesis of novel spiro indanone fused pyrano[3,2-c]chromene derivatives following hetero-Diels-Alder reaction and in vitro anticancer studies. Chapter II describes with one-pot, three-component regio- and sterospecific synthesis of spiro indanone pyrrolidine/piperidine fused nitrochromene derivatives through 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions and chapter III describes base mediated green synthesis of enantiopure 2-C-spiro-glycosyl-3-nitrochromenes.
