An experimental novel using the "Random Edge" avant writing technique where a normal body of text is cut off randomly at the edges to generate new fragmented texts, phrases and random letters which devolve almost to the point of concrete poetry. These texts are mixed with experimental comics and cartoons where speech is replaced with syllables and random letter combinations. The book is intended as a "far out" novel in the tradition of sixties counterculture writing as well as James Joyce's Finnegans Wake. The book also includes random photographic elements modelled after W G Sebald. This book will appeal to fans of experimental writing, concrete poetry, avant-garde art and music as well as mini comics and graphic novels. It tries to combine all possible types of experimental works on paper into a single novel. Nte refers to the form as a "glitch novel", and sees it as one possible positive future for avant-garde writing that could arise from the short attention spans generated by current smartphone and internet obsessions.

counterculture: kid's comics, beatniks, CND, hippies, rock posters, underground comics, punk art,new wave mini comics, zines, graphic novels, mtv cartoons, graffiti!Sol Nte's continuing exploration of "the Book as exhibition space" and "the Book as a repository of counterculture".The New Wave Tales of Slick Royale explores punk new wave in terms of what Nte describes as a "counterculture nodal point"; where it was and where it's going to - all measured in the evolving and dissolving of its visual aesthetic. The kids comics of the 40s and 50s, that fed into the 60s counterculture via the underground comics of the hippie scene, then morphs into a rawer, harsher, more angular drawing style of punk and new wave as reflected in the music, towards the end of the 80s with the rise of the graphic novel, and the adult cartoon boom of the early 90s brings another aesthetic, a follow on from Gary Panter's "ratty line", in this way we could reread the punk new wave angular graphics as a throwback to cubism in cartoon form, while the 90s gives us art brut and abstraction, a counterculture in line alone, follow on from Herge; la ligne claire, angular line, ratty line, the dissolving and re-evolution, revolution of the line, the cartoon as a measure of art history, forever the line! This book will appeal to fans of Gary Panter, Matt Groening, Lynda Barry, Beavis and Butthead, Neckface, MTV cartoons, Basquiat, Warhol, Chris Ware, Skateboard graphics and Robert Crumb, as well as the zines of Mark Gonzales and Harmony Korine!

Sol Nte wrote " Experimental Music and Free Improvisation " to be conceived as a follow-up to " Experimental Music : Cage and Beyond " by Michael Nyman and " Experimental Music Since 1970 " by Jennie Gottschalk . Sol Nte visually proposes the idea of music on paper: Lists of names combining classical composers, pop musicians or contemporary artists together with graphic scores, traditional music notations, comments on improvisations, music software lists and musical drawings. Readers unfamiliar with any of the names or concepts can search online and instantlyconnect the dots for a variety of experimental music ideas. This is experimental music in its purest form, the free association in the musician's head with a nod to the perennial inspiration of John Cage, Karlheinz Stockhausen and The Wire magazine as champions of experimentalism across time and genres. An essential read for people interested in: Cornelius Cardew , John Cage , Karlheinz Stockhausen , Sun Ra , David Toop , David Byrne , Nurse with Wound , Michael Nyman , Experimental Music, Derek Bailey , Throbbing Gristle , Free Improvisation , Jennie Gottschalk , Thom Holmes , Electroacoustic Music , Pierre Schaeffer , The Wire Magazine , Eldritch Priest , Joanna DeMers , Steve Reich , The Velvet Underground , Terry Riley , Sonic Youth , La Monte Young , The Sex Pistols and Philip Glass etc. Sol Nte has been making art, music, and words for the "no-audience underground" since the late eighties. With the exception of being included in a handful of exhibitions, dalliances with Fluxus in the nineties, and an extremely modest streaming revenue for his Pharaoh Sol free jazz albums, he is a refreshingly obscure unknown artist.

"In Loving Memory of the Self" is Sol Nte's first work of experimental fiction: Consisting of a jarring blend of plagiarised victoriana, william burroughs style cut-ups, self-help texts, snippets of autobiography and lyrics and poetry from a variety of occult pop music projects created by Sol Nte; including work under the names Baron Meliadus, Hexbag, Avantgardism, Cagehausen and of course his live and studio work under the stage name Pharaoh Sol with incarnations such as " Pharaoh Sol and his Astro Nubian Dieselpunk Swing Orchestra ", " Pharaoh Sol and the Intergalactic Psychic Nubians " and the " Pharaoh Sol Noisejazz Quartet ". The fundamentally disjointed nature of the text makes it a challenging read that becomes increasingly intriguing and rewarding culminating in no conclusion or resolution whatsoever. This novel should appeal to fans of James Joyce , William Burroughs , Richard Brautigan , Harmony Korine and the generally weirder end of literary fiction.Sol Nte has been making art, music, and words for the "no-audience underground" since the late eighties. With the exception of being included in a handful of exhibitions, dalliances with Fluxus in the nineties, and an extremely modest streaming revenue for his Pharaoh Sol free jazz albums, he is a refreshingly obscure unknown artist.
