This book documents this procession of theatre in interviews with 28 directors who've been most recognized and influential on the global stage. Their ideas are varied, even dissonant, indicating the protean nature of theatre and the rich weave of work that's made our theater so rewarding. Interviewees include Judith Malina, Ping Chong, Julie Taymor and Robert Icke, among others who have defined modern theater.
