Diseases are illnesses impairing the normal physiological functioning of living organisms. The causative agents are virus, bacteria, protozoans, helminthes and others. The diseases chosen for this book are: measles, smallpox, chickenpox, AIDS, Ebola, Dengue, cholera, leprosy, tuberculosis, typhoid, malaria, amoebiasis, Diarrhoea, Filariasis, Cancer and Jaundice. The text describes causative agents, signs and symptoms, diagnosis, prevention, treatment, epidemiology and history of all 16 diseases. A table containing these factors has also been included for the convenience of readers to have an immediate idea about these human diseases.

This book on "e;Earning Animals"e; is written with a view to highlight the importance of some invertebrate and vertebrate species used for earning both at individual and national levels. It aims at creating awareness among students, entrepreneurs and unemployed youth for gainful employment. The candidate species selected are some useful annelids, arthropods, unio, fish and mammals. A chapter on aquaponics - a method of cultivation of fish and plant farming devoid of soil - has also been described. Since most of these animal species are included in the syllabi of Indian Universities and colleges, the authors believe this book will be helpful to the students to meet their curricular requirements.

This book on "e;Wild Animals Of India"e; has been written with a motive to provide information at a glance to the readers interested in wildlife. The animals chosen for the study were of greater interest because they have been declared endangered, critically endangered, vulnerable or priority species in the IUCN Red data book and most of the species are included as course material at undergraduate and post graduate levels in Indian Universities. Hence, this is an endeavour to create awareness among the student community on Wild Life Biology. Efforts have been made to acquaint the readers with geographical distribution, habit, habitat, reproductive behavior and conservation measures of the animals.
