This is the final day of tryouts for the prestigious Pelican Squad. Who will make the team? The Littlest Pelican did not perform well on the first day of tryouts, so today his dive has to be perfect. The Littlest Pelican looked out at the Gulf of Mexico. Today was the first day of tryouts for the prestigious Pelican Squad. He had dreamed of this moment all of his life. His grandfather had been captain of the squad for many years, and now it was the Littlest Pelican's turn to prove himself. "You are small but mighty," his grandpa always reminded him. The excitement builds as the young pelicans hope they will perform the perfect dive and receive the Pelican Squad medal around their neck.

In Book 13 of this adventure series, Grumpy the Iguana and the Green Parrot are looking for a tree house in their new city of Naples, Florida. They have hired the services of Mr. Pelican who just happens to know where all the available tree homes are in the area. Mr. Pelican can be found on the historical Naples Pier. Baby will be turning two years old soon, but she is not looking forward to it. Turning two means she will have to live her life on her own, without her mom. "Remember that we are proud Manatees," her mom explains. "We are peaceful and kind to others." Baby understands, but she still doesn't know why the other fish won't play with her. Sweet Potato lives in the park with her parents and two brothers. She is an owl, but does not like to do anything owls are supposed to do, like sleeping all day or eating meat. Sweet Potato likes to eat sweet potatoes and she enjoys spending her days with her Uncle Grumpy.

Little Mouse has many fears. His biggest fear is the Big Black Cat that lives in the park. He has other fears too, like being alone and not being part of a family. He wants to feel safe and cared for. He is, after all, just a little mouse trying to survive the dangers that come from being vulnerable in this great big world. It is a true story which I hope brings to life the joy I feel every day.  These two little fluff balls are the love of my life.  I cannot imagine my world without Sugar and Cookie in it.  I knew right away that they were very special dogs when people would surround us in the park to take pictures. They are little celebrities already!   Whether I am taking them for a ride in the car, the stroller, or in the lobby of my building, they are alway photographed by people. They put a smile on the face of every person they meet.

Cookie has the perfect life.  Every day Cookie wakes up to another beautiful day in sunny Florida. She loves her daily routine that includes a morning walk, a yummy breakfast, playing with her sister and finally, taking a long nap in her cozy little bed, all in that order. Everything is fine until one day it all goes upside down. Cookie is lost!!! How could this have happened and how will she ever be able to find her way home? This is an adventure you do not want to miss.
