Well, you really don't know the painter William "Bill" Alexander? His biography reads like a novel and is for this book extensively probably researched for the first time! He was a charming "fox" who survived two world wars and lived years in North America with his VW bus as a traveling artist. He wanted to do something good for people. His life was a big adventure, his end was dramatic. Born in Berlin 1915 and later emigrated to North America, he became famous as a TV painter with own television show. Only 30 minutes Alexander needed for a complete oil painting, and he also taught his students. Thanks to the brillant "Alexander painting technique" that he developed himself, anyone can paint like this. And his method is still used and taught by teachers around the globe today. But the worldwide fame for this absolutely ingenious technique went to another: His student Bob Ross. Urgently overdue to remember this warmhearted artist. Let's accompany William "Bill" Alexander on his exciting journey.

A Winter Way of Life is the true story of our family spending forty-five-plus winters racing and training sled dogs. These are some of the true stories and problems that are part of the sport of running sled dogs. When you stand on a wooden sled, and there are rows of dogs running in unison, where the only sounds are the soft sound of the dogs' feet hitting the snow and of the runner sliding along the snow, you get lost in the world. You are on top of the world, as nothing can bother you as the dogs pull you through this wonderland. The leaders that you put your faith in need no commands to keep you safe on your journey. I need to thank my wife, who put up with me and all the things I put her through, some good and some just bad. To my wife, my family, and all my friends who made this possible, this book is for you.

Agnes Ayres had been in films since 1914, starting out with the Essanay Company in Chicago. After years of being in one and two reelers at Vitagraph, Agnes caught the eye of produce Jesse L. Lasky, who made her a star and as reportedly became his mistress. Agnes rose to stardom at Paramount working with some of the silent era's leading men such as Wallace Reid, Jack Holt, Thomas Meighan and Milton Sills. But her popularity peaked when she was cast opposite Rudolph Valentino in The Sheik, who would go on to become one of her closest friends, as well as the godfather to her only daughter. After her affair with Lasky ended, she signed a contract with Producer's Distributing Corporation (PDC) but they reneged on her three-film contract due to her alleged weight gain, whereupon she sued the company, including its vice-president, the powerful Hollywood director Cecil B. DeMille. Although she settled the suit out of court, her career was never the same and after transitioning to now making low budget movies, as well as a decade playing vaudeville shows across the country, she died on Christmas Day in 1940 from a cerebral hemorrhage, at the age of 48, after being ill for some time. This biography follows her life from the backroads of Illinois up to her death, and includes a comprehensive filmography of the nearly 100 movies she made during her lifetime. Louise Carley Lewisson is the author of several books including biographies of actresses Mary Nolan and Martha Mansfield, and is currently working on her next book about the life and career of actress Wanda Hawley. She currently lives in Tampa, Florida.

The book Transformation Through Christ captivates the reader in an interesting way. As you delve into the progress of Christ's providence in the life of an ordinary girl with an extraordinary God, you will receive an appeal and a call directly from the Holy Spirit of Christ.Tedy Petrova is the girl who grew up in a not-so-warm family atmosphere, and it caused a rift in her relationship with God. In her teens, she entered a hard life with heavy moments. She took handfuls of everything that life in the world offers today, and inevitably the life of this girl turned into failure. Years later, when she turned twenty-one, the love of Christ entered her life and turned all her notions about Christianity upside down, which she knew and had heard of since her childhood. Jesus visited her, and she developed a strong and close relationship with His Holy Spirit. He gave her the gift of extraordinary dreams and, a little bit later, to preach the Gospel and to write for His glory. From the girl named failure, often pointing fingers, she has become the moving glory of the Lord. Bearing the glory of God, she ignites more people for Christ, and her God-led ministry is growing to this day.Tedy is waiting for the upcoming promises of God in her life and wrote this book to give people like her the chance and opportunity to realize that there is an exit and salvation for each life situation through Christ. Reading this book, you will understand not only her changed life but also the way God chose to communicate with her. All extraordinary dreams and visions, together with some teachings, are especially for each one of you.Enjoy this God-inspired book and choose the reasonable. About the AuthorI was born into a family of dancers, musicians, and movie producers. Momma always said, "The world is our stage. No matter how difficult a situation may be, the show goes on, so suck it up buttercup, make the best of it." Show-biz people learn to solve problems with laughter. In 1950, at age 7, when the psychiatry department of Tulane University needed a child actor for a human behavior documentary, I got the job. What I witnessed working with doctors impressed me greatly. After graduating from the Hoffman Institute, I was licensed to work in the Medical Arts Centre on 57th Street in New York City. This 18-story building included a small hospital for mentally disturbed. The top two floors were privately owned apartments reserved for performing artists. On the lower floor where I worked people of every age, race and religion came to us seeking relief from mental and physical oddities deemed incurable by other doctors. Much to my delight I learned the disability paradox. People suffering permanent disability can achieve excellent, productive lives; often they become the happiest people on the planet.Thank you for reading my book. I love you.Your friend, O'Dear

John Stonehouse was an ambitious politician who became the youngest MP of that time and soon promoted to a cabinet position. He was an idealist, an attribute of his mother, whose selfless support of life's victims took its toll on Stonehouse's childhood. Her attention falling upon the refugees from the Spanish civil war rather than her own children. His own desire to help people who had no other support manifested itself in Africa in his fight against colonialism and in Bangladesh where he was instrumental in securing that country's independence. However, these fights took their toll on his mental health. Pressure upon pressure built upon his shoulders as he sacrificed his personal businesses to help the Bengalis establish a bank for their people. Resistance from the establishment, lack of support from his beloved Labour Party and hounding by the press led him on a path towards a breakdown. Prescription drugs and the sense of isolation forced him into a series of tragic decisions culminating in the faking of his own death in order to escape. Escape documents the events leading up to that fateful decision highlighting the pressures put upon him and highlights why he made certain decisions. It also compares the environment within which Stonehouse lived and asked whether it has advanced in the last 50 years. David Stead was born into a working-class Yorkshire family. This is his sixth published book, but the first non-fiction one. His passion for writing and examining emotion through poetry has been a constant, but applying this approach to an historical event is a new area of exploration.

This book was written with the hopes of reaching anyone interested in law enforcement, anyone who wants to become a police officer, and anyone interested in what happens during the daily life of an officer in training. It is also a resource for people who wonder what kind of and how much training a police officer receives. I have written about my academy classes and experiences that I believe were essential to my becoming an officer as well as a few experiences during the time that I have been an officer. When I was preparing to join an agency, there were no resources available for new-hire officers, and this book's intention is to reach those who want to know what they are getting into.
