Den er skrevet, fordi jeg havde brug for hjælp til at se det positive i en ret traumatisk oplevelse. Jeg har lært så meget, at jeg kan sige - en ulykke er ikke kun en ulykke. I 1906 drog den grønlandske polarforsker og opdagelsesrejsende Jørgen Brønlund (1877-1907) afsted på en livsfarlig ekspedition i det nordøstlige Grønland sammen med lægen Ludvig Mylius-Erichsen og kartografen Niels Peter Høeg Hagen.
