  • von Freya von Moltke
    22,00 €

This book was written at the request of a great teacher in order to support spiritual practitioners of various paths better integrate their spiritual experiences, vijñ¿na, with an understanding of how and why they happen: jñ¿na. This is not intended solely as a spiritual memoir. The author shares her personal experiences as an authentic example of a person's journey of self-inquiry, self-knowledge and self-actualization.Her use of Sanskrit and citations from relevant treatises ground contemporary practice in an ancient lineage of practice and theory that support the choices we make in our daily life even now. Our journeys are sometimes joyful; sometimes, challenging: all necessary to our personal evolution. As the ancient grammarians attest, this focus on our individual s¿dhan¿ inevitably plays a significant role in the evolution of the planet that is up for anyone who accepts the auspicious responsibility of experiencing the unity of the Self in order to support the diversity of shapes and forms in this breath-taking universe and university of our life.

  • von David B Motte

As David Motte states in The Gift of Blarney, "God wants to be involved in our lives. We have the freedom to choose His involvement or ignore His presence every day." That was never truer than on April 20, 2018, at the 600-year-old Blarney Castle in County Cork Ireland. That day, David received a gift more precious than wishes from kissing the Blarney Stone. In fact, he never reached the stone! While climbing the castle steps, he suffered a cardiac arrest, collapsed, and had no heartbeat for 15 minutes. Yet David is alive through the heroic efforts of a collection of special strangers from around the globe. Those incredible circumstances pale in comparison to the reality that God was in control every second, pouring out His love and comfort. Endorsement:A humbling story of hope and humanity. ¿Kate DurrantThere were a lot of factors that had to line up that morning for David and they did; he had someone very special looking out for him "up there."¿Ger O'DeaAbout the Author:David Motte lives in Indian Trail, NC with Joy, his wife of 39 years. They have three grown sons, Christopher, Evan, and Corey. David studied at Furman University in Greenville, SC and the graduate school of Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL. Besides traveling with Joy, he enjoys spending time with his two grandsons building Legos¿ and putting together puzzles.

Growing Up Grits : A Memoir of a Girl Raised in the South offers an in-depth look at the childhood experiences of a young girl growing up in a large family in the deep South. The author shares her first-hand personal and practical knowledge in hopes that it will not only paint a historical picture of life on the farm during this period of time but also to garner a spirit of thankfulness for the lessons learned and the love shared.Day-to-day activities depicted in the book allow the reader the opportunity to understand farm life from planting to harvesting and livelihood as we knew it in the South at a changing time. Crops were raised to provide income for the family as a means of survival. In addition, some crops were produced for family consumption. Fruits and vegetable, domestic animals, and even hunting wild game and fishing played an integral part in supplying food for the household.Strong family and religious foundations needed to not only survive, but to thrive, during turbulent and changing times are explored. Respect for the sacrifices made by our forefathers and honor for the love and discipline they showed are permeated throughout the book. Many of the family stories chronicled provide an intimate capsule look at relationships, faith, character, discipline, encouragement, and direction. In the midst of all the hard labor and impoverished conditions, a lot of precious memories were made - AND a lot of funny things happened on the way to growing up.

Since I was going to be a preacher, I needed to practice. Only being about eight or nine years old, who was going to listen to me? Not to worry. In the pasture near the barn was an empty hay rack. Perfect! With Bible in hand, I climbed up on the rack. Cows were moving around the barnyard. It was near milking time. The crowds were filling the auditorium. With much shoving and mooing, they prepared to hear the gospel. As I started to preach, everyone in the congregation looked on with fascination. Big, brown eyes stared in amazement. I shouted my text, telling the cows to repent or perish. After a few minutes of loud and lively preaching, I watched several of them slowly walk away. Not one convert! The passionate pursuit had begun.

This is a story of the casual criminality that is required to navigate the bureaucracy and business in general. Sometimes this is necessary for the system to operate, sometimes a mere convenience, sometimes for financial gain or even just a helping hand for another human being. The story covers the sloth, incompetence and pure evil of the Civil Service and their interaction with private business. It tells of what really happens in the inner workings of private businesses and their interaction with their overlords in intimate detail. This is a story seldom, if ever told, because those that know don't write, and those who write don't know. It covers the wonderful world of dodgy finance and operating a large business without capital. It is a story of human endurance and persistence and eventual victory of a sort. The story begins with a description of life in rural Queensland about thirty years after the original white settlement, covers the construction of major infrastructure when rural industries were expanding rapidly and the early years of the iconic mineral industry at Mount Isa. The author knew well at least eight men who spent a considerable stretch in jail and can say that none of them were bad men and at least three were men of higher moral standards and love of their fellow man than the general population. This is in contrast to some of the very senior public servants with whom he crossed swords, who were pure evil and grossly incompetent to boot.

When the author reached the age of eighty, and was no longer able to travel much, he began to put a few words on paper; his motivation was to keep his mind alert as his muscles weakened. Some of these 'musings' attempted to be amusing, without much success. Others were reactions to articles in the Australian newspaper, in the days when he could afford to have it delivered every day. Then he got carried away and began to deliberately wear different hats; a sportswriter one day, a current affairs commentator on another day, an arrogant book-reviewer the next. All the opinions expressed are his own, based upon wide reading and a good memory, so that ideas spawned by a book on theoretical physics began to mix with stories of the Brith Raj in India. And his sound Catholic upbringing, based on his father's love of Rerum Novarum, began to embrace the results of living for a while in a strongly Buddhist society. So, if you are looking for historical accuracy you will not find it here: he has kept no notes or references; what is in his head has leaked out through his word-processer. It is curiously therapeutic; a bit like going to Confession but not quite.

    von Lord Byron

In Lord Byron's lifetime, details of his travels were widely known through poems set in different countries, ranging from his homes in Scotland and England, through Europe and the Middle East, to the South Pacific and into extra-terrestrial realms. At the same time, a much more personal story was being shared with friends and family. Even when divided from those whose company he most enjoyed, Byron continued to share his thoughts and feelings about wherever he happened to be. His compulsive letter-writing reveals a strong desire to reach across space, to connect and reconnect with those elsewhere. While his memoirs did not survive the ceremonial posthumous bonfire at 50 Albemarle Street, many of Byron's correspondents treasured every word in their possession. This means a remarkable legacy has been preserved in letters that still seem as alive with conversational energy as when they were dashed off more than two hundred years ago. Through Byron's letters and journals, we are still able to become mental travellers, transported across time and space by this brilliant, mercurial, magnificent and often maddening writer.

An action filled memoir from the fastest stick horse in the Dakota's as a child, to Air Force fighter aircraft supersonic speeds to later in life, sailboat speeds. From Air Force Top Gun flying to later Airline International widebody 747 flying and cockpit fine dining. From farm boy cowboy boots to combat boots; then penny loafers and now boat shoes. And now, so importantly, my quest to Honor Our Creator "Abba" or "Daddy" of all mankind, for all my blessings that are available to all as well, by Honoring Our "Inner 'small' Voice."There is always an "In the Beginning" for everyone and even for Our Creator. Our Creator's Universe beginnings are superbly spelled out in Our Creator's Word, or His Book of Genesis. There are numerous books canonized into Our Creator's Word, and is surely the greatest, most complete "Memoir" of all times!!! And so important, is that Our Creator's "Memoir" does not need to be a religion, nor become a religion. It is respect for His Deity and it is a standalone, beautifully done lifestyle guide from Our Creator Father to reveal His nature; plus, our assured life pathway back to Himself, and guaranteed by His Son, Sir Jesus, via His empty Cross signature. My memoir is for the benefit of my precious grandchildren and also share with the world, my perceptions how Our Creator gets things done within His Universe, and the means that He used to create all that is both tangible and intangible, and all that is both visible and invisible as well. Our Creator created transmutable energy within our Universe, or which can transfer from one form to another, but never lost.. Electrically natured cnergy is one form and can be measured, but invisible until needed and applied. Our Creator also created His human creation with an internal, electrically natured neural circuitry; thus, as recorded in His Book of Genesis, we humans were created "in His image" and by Our Creator's intended design, we humans are spiritually reachable and can converse with Our Creator Father via our inner voice.Summarily, the very same energy that Our Creator used to create all that "is," is the very same energy that can return "we" humans to His eternal, spiritual realm by simply asking. All that is needed according to His Word, is enough spiritually positive, electrically natured energy in the size of a "mustard seed." All guaranteed by His Son, Jesus, upon the Cross!!! And "in my opinion," additionally notarized by His created Cross upon His servant Donkey's back during His "In the Beginning." Thus, this book is dedicated to the Donkey!!!
