Ein bisher unbekanntes Briefzeugnis führt in die frühe Rezeption des NS-Widerstands und die Geschichte des »Kreisauer Kreises«1957 schreibt Christian Troebst (1925-1995), Pfarrer einer württembergischen Gemeinde, angeregt durch die Lektüre von Büchern zum Widerstand gegen das NS-Regime, an Freya von Moltke (1911-2010), Witwe des von der NS-Justiz hingerichteten Widerstandskämpfers Helmuth James Graf von Moltke. Der daraus entstehende bisher unbekannte Briefwechsel bis ins Jahr 1959 ist ein bedeutendes Zeugnis der frühen Rezeption des deutschen Widerstands. Die beiden Protagonisten umkreisen immer wieder die zentralen Begriffe »Glaube« und »Widerstand«, während sie Themen wie die Entstehung des »Kreisauer Kreises« und moralische Dilemmata der Oppositionellen besprechen. Der Briefwechsel enthält auch eine aufschlussreiche Beschreibung von Moltkes Besuch in Troebsts Gemeinde 1958 und ihres Vortrags dort vor den Gemeindemitgliedern. Besonders bemerkenswert ist eine von Freya von Moltke verfasste und einem der Briefe beigefügte frühe Abhandlung über die Geschichte des »Kreisauer Kreises«, in der sie die Hintergründe und Handlungen der an der Verschwörung Beteiligten erläutert.Mit diesem Briefwechsel liegt ein wichtiges Dokument aus einer Zeit vor, in der der Widerstand gegen das NS-Regime keineswegs so anerkannt war, wie er heute ist.

På hösten 1908 träffas Lisa Larsson och Erik Gustaf Sjögren i Lund, där båda studerar. De blir förälskade, gifter sig 1912 och får fyra barn. Men studier, arbete och Erik Gustafs åtta kommen-deringar som marinläkare på sju pansarskepp gör att de tvingas leva åtskilda under många perioder fram till 1920. Deras brevväxling under dessa tider finns bevarad, över 1300 brev. Denna bok innehåller breven från 1912. Lisa arbetar som lärarinna på samskolan i Laholm. Hon ger även privatlektioner.Erik Gustaf läser patologi på Karolinska Institutet. I april får han en kommendering som fartygsläkare på H.M. Thordön 1 maj - 7 september.De bestämmer sig för att ändå gifta sig den 22 juli. Erik Gustaf får permission i tre dagar för det. Middag ges på Stadshotellet i Laholm. I stället för bröllopsresa tillbringar de ett par veckor i marinens stuga på Klåverön vid infarten till Marstrand.Sedan återvänder Lisa till Laholm. Erik Gustaf avslutar sin kommendering och återvänder till Stockholm. Där skaffar han en lägenhet åt dem, på Parmmätargatan på Kungsholmen. De flyttar dit i oktober.

William Kern Holoman (1920-2015) was co-proprietor of the Raleigh department store Boylan-Pearce and rose to the rank of Brigadier General in the North Carolina National Guard. He was an enthusiastic writer and public speaker. His Memoirs of 2010 were built from the long letters he wrote home from France in 1944-45 and much later autobiographical essays, mostly 2003-05, when he was in his 80s. This second edition of his Memoirs includes material identified since 2010. It is edited by D. Kern Holoman, his eldest son.

Since I was going to be a preacher, I needed to practice. Only being about eight or nine years old, who was going to listen to me? Not to worry. In the pasture near the barn was an empty hay rack. Perfect! With Bible in hand, I climbed up on the rack. Cows were moving around the barnyard. It was near milking time. The crowds were filling the auditorium. With much shoving and mooing, they prepared to hear the gospel. As I started to preach, everyone in the congregation looked on with fascination. Big, brown eyes stared in amazement. I shouted my text, telling the cows to repent or perish. After a few minutes of loud and lively preaching, I watched several of them slowly walk away. Not one convert! The passionate pursuit had begun.

This is a story of the casual criminality that is required to navigate the bureaucracy and business in general. Sometimes this is necessary for the system to operate, sometimes a mere convenience, sometimes for financial gain or even just a helping hand for another human being. The story covers the sloth, incompetence and pure evil of the Civil Service and their interaction with private business. It tells of what really happens in the inner workings of private businesses and their interaction with their overlords in intimate detail. This is a story seldom, if ever told, because those that know don't write, and those who write don't know. It covers the wonderful world of dodgy finance and operating a large business without capital. It is a story of human endurance and persistence and eventual victory of a sort. The story begins with a description of life in rural Queensland about thirty years after the original white settlement, covers the construction of major infrastructure when rural industries were expanding rapidly and the early years of the iconic mineral industry at Mount Isa. The author knew well at least eight men who spent a considerable stretch in jail and can say that none of them were bad men and at least three were men of higher moral standards and love of their fellow man than the general population. This is in contrast to some of the very senior public servants with whom he crossed swords, who were pure evil and grossly incompetent to boot.

When the author reached the age of eighty, and was no longer able to travel much, he began to put a few words on paper; his motivation was to keep his mind alert as his muscles weakened. Some of these 'musings' attempted to be amusing, without much success. Others were reactions to articles in the Australian newspaper, in the days when he could afford to have it delivered every day. Then he got carried away and began to deliberately wear different hats; a sportswriter one day, a current affairs commentator on another day, an arrogant book-reviewer the next. All the opinions expressed are his own, based upon wide reading and a good memory, so that ideas spawned by a book on theoretical physics began to mix with stories of the Brith Raj in India. And his sound Catholic upbringing, based on his father's love of Rerum Novarum, began to embrace the results of living for a while in a strongly Buddhist society. So, if you are looking for historical accuracy you will not find it here: he has kept no notes or references; what is in his head has leaked out through his word-processer. It is curiously therapeutic; a bit like going to Confession but not quite.

It is respect for His Deity and it is a standalone, beautifully done lifestyle guide from Our Creator Father to reveal His nature; plus, our assured life pathway back to Himself, and guaranteed by His Son, Sir Jesus, via His empty Cross signature.My memoir is for the benefit of my precious grandchildren and also share with the world, my perceptions how Our Creator gets things done within His Universe, and the means that He used to create all that is both tangible and intangible, and all that is both visible and invisible as well. Our Creator created transmutable energy within our Universe, or which can transfer from one form to another, but never lost.. Electrically natured cnergy is one form and can be measured, but invisible until needed and applied. Our Creator also created His human creation with an internal, electrically natured neural circuitry; thus, as recorded in His Book of Genesis, we humans were created "in His image" and by Our Creator's intended design, we humans are spiritually reachable and can converse with Our Creator Father via our inner voice.Summarily, the very same energy that Our Creator used to create all that "is," is the very same energy that can return "we" humans to His eternal, spiritual realm by simply asking. All that is needed according to His Word, is enough spiritually positive, electrically natured energy in the size of a "mustard seed." All guaranteed by His Son, Jesus, upon the Cross!!! And "in my opinion," additionally notarized by His created Cross upon His servant Donkey's back during His "In the Beginning." Thus, this book is dedicated to the Donkey!!!
