The Godai Mirabilia is a series of poems detailing the beauty and power of the five elements of the Japanese philosophy Godai. Each of these elements are beautiful and powerful in its own way and this poetry collection captures them as the wonders of the natural world that they are. The first element is fire, fire is destructive yet beautiful, it can bring death that then allows for new life to growth. The second element, water, is flexible, flowing everywhere and teeming with life as if itself is alive. Earth is the third element, it is both the ground beneath us and the rest of the natural world on it, it is considered to be the element of stability and resisting change. The fourth element is air, which is seen by many to represent freedom, grace, and wisdom. The final element is void, the element is representative of the connection of all things, what is beyond creation and the emptiness that came before it. These elements come together to create the universe in its purest form, bringing what is necessary for life, energy, and endless possibilities of what is to come.

In the book "I Am Not a Poet," Janine Abdo embarks on a profound journey, exploring the depths of human experience at the age of sixteen. This collection is not a polished masterpiece, but a mosaic of candid reflections. Through her words, she unveils the complexities that often remain hidden. With each poem, she invites us to witness her world, daring us to connect with the depths of our own souls. "I Am Not a Poet" is a sanctuary where vulnerability is embraced. As you embark on this poetic voyage, may you find comfort and inspiration within the pages of "I Am Not a Poet."

  • von Daljit Singh Kalra

'Parwaaz' is my second collection of writings. After 'Aagaaz', Parwaaz is my collection of ghazals, nazms, rubais and poems. My love for both Hindi and Urdu hypnotizes my pen and makes it dance in its own way. Sometimes Hindi shows its magic in the guise of poems and sometimes Urdu dominates its magic in the form of ghazal, nazms and rubais. However, my only effort has been to follow the instructions of my pen while writing, which itself chooses any feelings from the bundle of memories in my heart and spreads it on a blank page. Most of the poems in this book are very close to my heart. What makes them special is how they sing the songs of my heart, my life. It seems as if these poems are the clay structuring my life into a beautiful creation. In the end, I would like to give credit to each and everyone who constantly supported and encouraged me to write by cheering for me at each step and pushed me to be better by being my best critics. Thank you to each one of them.

So even with life, the intense journey that it is, petrichor is the one scent that always embraced me in everything that I was in any moment it showed itself. So, with that, this is about all the times I loved, lust, hurt, lost and experienced life at its deepest most valuable points, but still continued to live - because I always knew one day I needed to smell the first rain, again. Healing is a journey with a life-long lesson, so let this book give you comfort in being seen. Let it be yourPetrichor""

  • von Clara A. B. Joseph
    16,00 €

What does it mean to love a woman--a mother, an other--and hold her at arm's length? Clara Joseph's third collection of poems, M/OTHER, skillfully navigates the nuances and irony of this daily exercise. With each turn of the page, the narrative gains emotional intensity and takes readers on unexpected journeys, such as this one: ""He smiled like the man he was/as he copied wonder into my lap, . . ./And I bent to smell his washed scalp;/the nip was barely visible . . ./And the snake slid away/in the shadows between/our hooves."" While the collection playfully experiments with language and form, it never obscures the gravity of its themes, as in the parenthetical query: ""(Could I be a Ruth to my Naomi?/Or would I be--simply--ruthless?)"" The collection is divided into three parts, each exploring the multifaceted nature of motherhood, uncovering biographical details, certainties, uncertainties, and the intricacies of hidden pasts. It also contemplates unconventional messages, both reverent and irreverent, unveiling their magical essence. In the final section, the book contemplates senility and will, death and miracle, and survival and freedom.
