With a brief memory of your past, what meaning do your dreams hold? In the many questions that Kaeda asks herself, this is the overarching one in a life riddled with confusion and deep thought. An adopted San Francisco student in 2036, Kaeda is quiet and analytical-intellectualizing most of her feelings rather than experiencing them. However, Kaeda holds a destructive vulnerability: her past puzzles her. She has only brief memories of her childhood-a frequent issue when Kaeda attempts to piece together her past. Though, to either help or hinder this, Kaeda has an unlikely ability: her dreams are abnormally vivid; scenes of bright images play inside of Kaeda's mind every second that she sleeps. In November 2036, fragments of Kaeda's past become clearer-and her dreams replicate this. As Kaeda's memories of her past and vivid dreams begin to interlink, what conclusions can she draw despite the gaps in her recollection? Content warning: This book includes references to suicide, depression, substance abuse, mental hospitalization, and depictions of issues concerning sleep and dreams. It is not suitable for all audiences.

In France's Ancient Regime, kings marry for power but take mistresses for love. So revered was the coveted role of mistress to the king, the woman chosen was referred to as the king's Favorite. In 1771, King Louis XVth gifted his Favorite, the Madame Jeanne du Barry, with a black child to serve as her personal servant and page. Years later, that child, Louis-Benoit Zamor, would send the last official French Favorite to her death. Inspired by the true life of Louis-Benoit Zamor. ~~His mother told him he was God's greatest thing. Then he was stolen, sold, shipped to France, and re-named Louis-Benoit Zamor. Stripped of his esteem as efficiently as a fox's coat in a royal hunt, Zamor is reared by Du Barry-with a love as false as her smile-and a king with unsavory proclivities. He soon realizes his mother lied. Because, in this place, King Louis XV is the world's greatest thing, second only to God.But Zamor was loved, once. This fact, alone, makes the bitter pill of a lifetime of small nothingness impossible to swallow. Even if false, a mother's words don't die easily.First, he must survive childhood. Then, if the world thinks the debauched, degenerate king is its greatest thing, the answer is simple: Zamor will have to change the world. Vive le roi. Long live the King ... and all that.

Three brothers, Whammy, Zeke and Benny, are becoming adults in the present-day world of miserably unhappy, scheming, badly-coifed, fashion-felon social justice warriors. The boys must protect their reputations and characters in much the same way as Victorian ladies fought to maintain their virtue and honor--albeit without being allowed to faint or have the 'vapors.' Additionally, it is highly impractical to carry 10-foot poles.

we encounter many intriguing individuals who generate various thoughts within us. Regardless of gender, it is not uncommon to feel a sense of flattery when someone shows interest in us. However, it is important not to obsess over these encounters and constantly dwell on them. Instead, we should engage in open communication with our partners and reflect on our own desires. We must ask ourselves, "What am I doing? I am content in my current relationship, so why jeopardize everything for a fleeting moment of pleasure?"

This book of poetry was inspired by my tragic events in my darkest days of addiction. There were assaults, sexual assaults, life on the streets and the deaths of many people that I associated with from drug overdoses.I lived through a hell that only an addict can understand. During the end of my drug use, I would pray that God would just let me die, not caring if I went to Heaven or Hell. I just didn't want to live anymore.Today I embrace my new life without drugs. I am blessed to still have my family (mom, dad and brothers) in my life. My mom is truly special, for she never gave up on me, and she is my solid rock in life today. She is the strongest woman I have ever known. I am also thankful that God never gave up on me, and Jesus Christ holds my life in his hands and as long as I am his lamb, I can do anything without picking up another drug in life. While I can't change my past, and I have no promise of tomorrow, I live for God on day at a time. I hope that my story has helped one person stay clean today. If you are an addict or know and love an addict please know three is hope for recovery. Stay strong and God Bless!

Marc Harshman, Poet Laureate of West Virginia, offers up his newest full-length collection of poems and demonstrates his dependably keen observational skills that elevate landscapes and people into an almost mythic realm. In many of the poems there is, as well, a threatening presence from whose grim circumstances he wrestles, if not hope, glimmers of its possibilities. And always there are signature poems like "Poet in the Schools" that simply lift off the page with a storyteller's finesse "for every single one of us / who's ever not been called on / who's felt hung out to dry, been picked last, / been poked, tripped, and toppled, / lost, strung out, yearning, abused, dying / somewhere out of sight / in our private universes, and he, he has opened the rooms / of paradise / for us to see / how simply easy it is / to smile. . ."

In the sequence of poems that forms the spine of this debut collection, Luke Palmer casts 16th Century alchemist Paracelsus as an eccentric single father, giving voice to his Homunculus; a preformationist child and the secret to eternal life. By turns playful and profane, the arcane bleeds into the everyday, untethered from history - a walk in the woods is an encounter with an angry god, a potty training accident becomes a metaphysical exploration. Elsewhere, Palmer addresses masculinities from both sides of the 'father tug', roving between the concrete and ephemeral, asking questions of language, the wants of an aging body, and what it means to live forever.

Inspired by true events, "Don't Push Me" is an intergenerational saga of gay romance and the shame that cripples it. On a ski vacation in the Alps, Elliott discovers that the owners of the inn where he is staying are the descendants of a physician who took care of his grandfather, a prisoner during World War One. Elliott falls under the spell of Max, who, like his great grandfather, is haunted by an intractable sense of sexual shame. Characters grapple with an existential question - whether their sexual desires are a madness corrupting the soul or a gift of the gods, nudging them toward authenticity. The narrative goes back and forth between World War One, the 1960s, and 2007, underscoring the historical context of sexual identity and expression. The story explores the parallel worlds we inhabit and the people that invite us to cross borders. Echoing ancient poets and philosophers, the book celebrates the enchantment of the Jungfrau region of Switzerland, a place where spirits hide in the upper reaches of glacier-studded peaks and inspire mortals to grow wings and soar.

After the success of her pamphlet Poems For Pete Davidson, Ella Sadie Guthrie introduces us to Scorpio SZN: an exploration of love in all its forms. Named Scorpio SZN after the intense reputation Scorpios have garnered for being deep lovers with a penchant for revenge, in this book Guthrie explores the relationships that have shaped her through visceral metaphor and sometimes slightly unsettling imagery, (with no mention of Pete Davidson in sight). What starts as a collection of poems about falling in love and the aftermath of it, quickly turns into an examination of how the past can make us who we are and how to overcome it. Get ready for heartbreaking declarations of love and surreal, out-of-this-world imagery grounded in the concrete memory of a Nike sports dress or the door of an IKEA flat-pack wardrobe. Playful yet raw, Scorpio SZN is the antidote for anyone who's ever felt bruised by love.
