La posizione geografica di Brasile e Colombia, i problemi di frontiera condivisi e l'affinità operativa potrebbero rappresentare la possibilità di una cooperazione militare regionale, dal momento che condividono interessi comuni, come la protezione dell'Amazzonia, ed entrambi i Paesi non dispongono di vettori plurimotore nelle loro forze aeree che potrebbero essere integrati attraverso accordi internazionali. Il presente lavoro analizza la fattibilità di tale cooperazione attraverso ricerche bibliografiche e documentali e analisi tecnico-operative, e cerca di verificare la possibilità e la forma di una cooperazione militare bilaterale tra la Forza Aerea Colombiana (FAC) e la Forza Aerea Brasiliana (FAB) per la protezione dell'Amazzonia, utilizzando il velivolo KC-390. I risultati, basati su ricerche documentali e su una revisione della letteratura, indicano la fattibilità di una cooperazione bilaterale sul modello dell'European Air Transport & Air-to-Air Refuelling (Atares), in cui il KC-390 brasiliano integra la FAC e i KC-767 colombiani incrementano l'addestramento dei piloti della FAB brasiliana.

Das VFL sammelt einen breiten Querschnitt der Perspektiven von Gemeinschaften, lokalen Behörden und Organisationen der Zivilgesellschaft, die am stärksten von Katastrophen betroffen sind. Das alle zwei Jahre stattfindende Programm erkennt den Wert einer konsolidierten Stimme der Zivilgesellschaft in verschiedenen Regionen an und lenkt die Aufmerksamkeit auf die Herausforderungen im Bereich der Katastrophenvorsorge, die von den lokalen Akteuren als entscheidend für die Stärkung der Widerstandsfähigkeit der Gemeinschaften angesehen werden.

Este trabajo analiza la viabilidad de dicha cooperación a través de la investigación bibliográfica y documental y del análisis técnico-operativo, y busca conocer la posibilidad y el formato de la cooperación militar bilateral entre la Fuerza Aérea Colombiana (FAC) y la Fuerza Aérea Brasileña (FAB) para la protección de la Amazonia, utilizando el avión KC-390. Los resultados, basados en investigación documental y revisión bibliográfica, apuntan a la viabilidad de una cooperación bilateral según el modelo europeo Air Transport & Air-to-Air Refuelling (Atares), en el que el KC-390 brasileño complementa a la FAC y los KC-767 colombianos aumentan el entrenamiento de los pilotos brasileños de la FAB.

With the "Thyssen Lectures" the Fritz Thyssen Foundation is continuing a tradition that is initiated beginning in Germany in 1979 and followed by venues at a series of universitites in the Czech Republic, Israel, the Russian Republic and, most recently, in Turkey.The series in Greece is being organised for a period of four years under the leadership of Prof. Vassilios Skouris, former President of the European Court of Justice and current Director of the Centre of International and European Economic Law (CIELL), and is dedicated to the framework topic of "the EU as a community of European law and values".THE CRISIS OF THE STATE GOVERNED BY THE RULE OF LAW - WHAT TO DO?In a liberal constitutional state, rule of law and democracy are two sides of the same coin. In a democracy as well, freedom requires state power to be constrained by law and action by the state to be subject to checks and controls by autonomous and impartial courts of law. In some EU Member States, the rule of law is being undermined, with governing elites citing the democratically legitimised rule of the majority as pretext. In the process, state institutions empowered with exercising checks and controls, such as courts of law, law enforcement agencies, police and intelligence services, are forced to tow the line, while key positions are filled with their own cronies. The EU has taken a number of steps to counteract this development. These include, in particular, case law handed down by the ECJ laying down requirements governing the independence of Member State courts. Although these measures are now having an impact, the crisis afflicting rule of law and democracy can ultimately only be resolved politically. Above all, the political will of the remaining Member States and a commitment on the part of their respective civil society are needed to preserve the EU as a community of law and values.

Im Kontext des brasilianischen föderalen Systems ist es angebracht, die Zuständigkeiten der öffentlichen Verwaltungen der Metropolregionen und der Bundesstaaten im Hinblick auf die Verwaltung der öffentlichen Aufgaben von gemeinsamem Interesse zu vertiefen. Der rechtliche Rahmen für diese öffentlichen Aufgaben wird analysiert, ebenso wie die Notwendigkeit gesunder Veränderungen für die kommunalen öffentlichen Verwaltungen und die Bundesstaaten. Es werden gesunde Veränderungen für die kommunalen und staatlichen öffentlichen Verwaltungen vorgeschlagen, nicht nur in Bezug auf die thematische und strukturelle Gesetzgebung, sondern vor allem in Bezug auf die Änderung der Einstellungen beim Umgang mit der Metropolenproblematik.

In the context of Brazil's federal system, it is pertinent to deepen the competences of metropolitan municipal public administrations and federal states with regard to the management of public functions of common interest. The regulatory framework for these public functions is analysed, as well as the need for healthy changes for municipal public administrations and federal states. Healthy changes are suggested for municipal and state public administrations, not only in terms of thematic and structuring legislation, but above all in terms of changing attitudes when tackling the metropolitan issue.

The first part reviews the history of Iran-United States relations, from the 1950s to the present day. Key events are placed in their historical and geopolitical context, in order to better understand the evolution of mistrust between the two countries. The second part examines more specifically the Iranian nuclear issue, from the 1979 Revolution to the denunciation of the 2015 agreement. Beyond the technical aspect, this section seeks to decipher the issues of sovereignty and national security under -jacent. The third part discusses the economic sanctions imposed by the United States and their impacts on Iran. It demonstrates how these punitive measures have gradually deteriorated bilateral relations while weakening the Iranian.

En effet, en plus des nombreuses conséquences catastrophiques des activités anthropiques sur l'environnement, la planète terre s'avance progressivement vers une "extinction massive" d'après de nombreux experts.Les parcs nationaux qui sont l'un des principaux outils politiques sensés infléchir la perte continue de la biodiversité font faces à des enjeux de plus en plus nombreux et complexes. Par exemple, dans le bassin du Congo, considéré déjà par certains chercheurs comme la première réserve écologique de la planète, les défis environnementaux contrastent avec des besoins socio-économiques et culturels réels, et aussi avec des ambitions d'émergence des jeunes Etats de la sous région. Notre contribution se propose de parcourir ces enjeux de développement durable sous le prisme des relations internationales avec une forte empreinte des techniques de géographie physique.

This book analyses the political and public debates about euthanasia in Portugal. Utilising petitions submitted to Parliament, legislative bills, parliamentary debates, opinion articles in newspapers, and documents published by the Catholic Church, it examines this sensitive issue through the theoretical lens of morality politics. It does so by studying the process of political dispute between advocacy coalitions formed by political parties and societal actors. This is the first book to comprehensively analyse a morality issue in Portugal, a predominantly Catholic country that has taken an innovative and liberal stance on many morality issues over the last two decades. It will appeal to students and scholars of sociology, political science, public policy and bioethics, as well as policymakers and other interest groups.
