Partiendo del perfil de la piratería marítima en Somalia, planteo la importancia de los antecedentes y los indicadores utilizados para el análisis. Para ello, he investigado la logística implicada en las operaciones de piratería marítima. También se explica el fracaso de los actores enfrentados. Los factores responsables se han clasificado en términos generales como políticos y económicos. Utilizando datos de varias naciones, he argumentado cómo estos factores prevalecen sólo en Somalia. Se han examinado otras regiones y los resultados han mostrado que, dentro de ellas, no todos los factores considerados han existido a la vez. El libro relaciona estos factores entre sí y explica la política de vinculación entre ellos. Esto era necesario porque los factores considerados tienen un nexo único a lo largo del periodo de 20 años.

In diesem Buch werden die Faktoren untersucht, die für den Anstieg der Seepiraterie in Somalia verantwortlich sind. Der betrachtete Zeitrahmen erstreckt sich von 1992 bis 2012. Ausgehend vom Profil der Seepiraterie in Somalia stelle ich die Bedeutung der Hintergrundinformationen und der für die Analyse verwendeten Indikatoren dar. Dabei habe ich die Logistik von Seepiraterieoperationen untersucht. Auch das Versagen der gegnerischen Akteure wird erläutert. Die verantwortlichen Faktoren wurden grob in politische und wirtschaftliche Faktoren eingeteilt. Anhand von Daten aus verschiedenen Ländern habe ich dargelegt, dass diese Faktoren nur in Somalia vorherrschen. Andere Regionen wurden untersucht, und die Ergebnisse haben gezeigt, dass in diesen Regionen nicht alle betrachteten Faktoren gleichzeitig vorhanden waren. Im Buch werden diese Faktoren miteinander verknüpft und die politischen Zusammenhänge zwischen ihnen erklärt. Dies war notwendig, weil die betrachteten Faktoren über den Zeitraum von 20 Jahren eine einzigartige Verknüpfung aufweisen.

Ce livre examine les facteurs responsables de la montée de la piraterie maritime en Somalie. La période considérée s'étend de 1992 à 2012. En partant du profil de la piraterie maritime en Somalie, je souligne l'importance des informations de base et des indicateurs utilisés pour l'analyse. Ce faisant, j'ai étudié la logistique impliquée dans les opérations de piraterie maritime. L'échec des acteurs opposés est également expliqué. Les facteurs responsables ont été classés en deux grandes catégories : les facteurs politiques et les facteurs économiques. À l'aide de données provenant de divers pays, j'ai expliqué comment ces facteurs sont prévalents dans la seule Somalie. D'autres régions ont été examinées et les résultats ont montré que, dans ces régions, tous les facteurs considérés n'ont pas existé en même temps. Le livre relie ces facteurs les uns aux autres et explique les liens politiques qui les unissent. Cela était nécessaire car les facteurs considérés ont un lien unique sur une période de 20 ans.

Master's Thesis from the year 2022 in the subject Gender Studies, grade: A, , course: Gender development, language: English, abstract: The aim of this research is to understand the role and experience of women in the context of transitional justice and peace building in Liberia after the end of the civil war in 2003. The study focuses on women in Liberiäs capital Monrovia, who have been involved in various way in initiatives towards transitional justice and peacebuilding. Development of this understanding will help in improving the process of transitional justice and assist it in making it more robust and inclusive. The focus is on the time period after 2003, as this is when transitional justice measures were implemented. The emancipation of women from the regions of war has been a subject of critical debate across all cultures and geographical settings, including Liberia. Hence, the concept of transitional justice for its application in Liberia needs to be analyzed in the context of the history of the country and how it has impacted the social demography of the region along with the role of women needs to be assessed. This research aimed to understand the experience of women being involved in transitional justice and peacebuilding in Liberia. A primary qualitative research approach was used for the same with foundations based on critical feminist theory. The participants were recruited through purposive sampling with collection of data using semi-structured interviews. The findings of the interviews conducted among the upper-middle-class women of Monrovia included the primary themes: the transitional justice movement has altered the role of women in Liberia, the emancipation of women is yet to reach the masses, and the movement of transitional justice needs to evolve further.

Moreover, the researcher has used critical discussion through effective and factful arguments in the literature review to accomplish the research purpose.Moreover, the investigator involved the analytical and conceptual framework which highly plays a significant role in accomplishing the whole research as it included the concepts and theories which is relevant to the research matter. The researcher included IASC Framework on Durable Solutions for Internal Displaced Persons and the social framework of UNHCR in order to give a proper value to the section. On the other hand, the researcher uses secondary research for collecting data along with thematic/content analysis in order to analyse the research with effective concepts and accurately analysing the collected information.
