Se trata de la especie Paraphrynus viridiceps (Pocock, 1893). El Guabá es un arácnido miembro del Orden Amblipygy de talla mediana y de cuerpo dorsoventralmente aplanado. A primera vista parecen arañas, pero a diferencia de éstas poseen el abdomen claramente segmentado, los pedipalpos relativamente grandes y espinosos, y el primer par de patas muy alargado, en forma de látigo.Sus hábitos de vida son eminentemente nocturnos.
