Bats are the second most diverse group of mammals whose importance lies mainly in their ecological functions within the ecosystem. In Pico San Juan, there are no studies that compare species composition at different altitudinal ranges. The objective of the present work was to identify and compare the bat assemblages distributed at a regional altitudinal scale. The monitoring was conducted for three consecutive nights during the month of September 2018 in three altitudinal ranges: 600 m, 800 m, 1100 m, which are located in the municipality of Cumanayagua, Cienfuegos province, south-central Cuba. Three 9-meter mist nets were used for the identification of bat species. Eleven bat species were identified, belonging to four families and 10 genera, representing 42.3% of the chiropterofauna for Cuba and 57.9% for Guamuhaya. The best represented trophic guild was the insectivores (6 species). It was demonstrated that species richness is influenced by the altitudinal gradient, which is responsible for the heterogeneity of the landscape in Pico San Juan.

The present work was carried out with the purpose of increasing the knowledge about bats and highlighting their importance for the ecosystem, through the ecosystemic roles that they fulfill, as well as to make known that in Peru the research works are increasing, in order to make known to the authorities that future plans should consider many more aspects to avoid the impact of bats. This study could not have been carried out without the support of the VERTEBRATE Research Center, which belongs to the Professional School of Biology of the National University of San Antonio Abad del Cusco. It should be emphasized that in the highlands of Peru there are two seasons characterized by very different climatic conditions, therefore the ecological conditions also vary and thanks to this we were able to evaluate the difference in the diversity of chiroptera in this locality.

Il presente lavoro è stato realizzato con l'obiettivo di aumentare le conoscenze sui pipistrelli e di evidenziare la loro importanza per l'ecosistema, attraverso i ruoli ecosistemici che ricoprono, nonché di rendere noto che il lavoro di ricerca in Perù sta aumentando, al fine di far capire alle autorità che i piani futuri devono considerare molti più aspetti per evitare l'impatto dei pipistrelli. Questo studio non avrebbe potuto essere realizzato senza il supporto del centro di ricerca VERTEBRATE, che appartiene alla Scuola Professionale di Biologia dell'Università Nazionale di San Antonio Abad del Cusco. Va notato che sugli altopiani del Perù esistono due stagioni, caratterizzate da condizioni climatiche molto diverse e quindi anche le condizioni ecologiche variano, e grazie a ciò abbiamo potuto valutare la differenza nella diversità dei chirotteri in questa località.

I pipistrelli sono il secondo gruppo più diversificato di mammiferi, la cui importanza risiede principalmente nelle loro funzioni ecologiche all'interno dell'ecosistema. Nel Pico San Juan non esistono studi che confrontino la composizione delle specie a diverse fasce altitudinali. Lo scopo del presente lavoro è stato quello di identificare e confrontare gli assembramenti di pipistrelli distribuiti su scala altitudinale regionale. Il monitoraggio è stato effettuato per tre notti consecutive durante il mese di settembre 2018 in tre fasce altitudinali: 600 m, 800 m e 1100 m, situate nel comune di Cumanayagua, provincia di Cienfuegos, nel centro-sud di Cuba. Per l'identificazione delle specie di pipistrelli sono state utilizzate tre reti a nebbia di 9 metri. Sono state identificate undici specie di pipistrelli, appartenenti a quattro famiglie e 10 generi, che rappresentano il 42,3% della chirotterofauna di Cuba e il 57,9% di Guamuhaya. La classe trofica meglio rappresentata è quella degli insettivori (6 specie). È stato dimostrato che la ricchezza di specie è influenzata dal gradiente altitudinale, responsabile dell'eterogeneità del paesaggio di Pico San Juan.

Le présent travail a été réalisé dans le but d'accroître les connaissances sur les chauves-souris et de souligner leur importance pour l'écosystème, grâce aux rôles écosystémiques qu'elles jouent, ainsi que de faire savoir que les travaux de recherche au Pérou augmentent, afin de faire savoir aux autorités que les plans futurs doivent prendre en compte beaucoup plus d'aspects pour éviter l'impact des chauves-souris. Cette étude n'aurait pas pu être réalisée sans le soutien du centre de recherche VERTEBRATE, qui appartient à l'Ecole Professionnelle de Biologie de l'Université Nationale de San Antonio Abad del Cusco. Il convient de noter que dans les hauts plateaux du Pérou, il y a deux saisons caractérisées par des conditions climatiques très différentes et que, par conséquent, les conditions écologiques varient également, ce qui nous a permis d'évaluer la différence dans la diversité des chiroptères dans cette localité.

Les chauves-souris constituent le deuxième groupe de mammifères le plus diversifié, dont l'importance réside principalement dans leurs fonctions écologiques au sein de l'écosystème. Au Pico San Juan, il n'existe pas d'études comparant la composition des espèces à différentes altitudes. L'objectif du présent travail était d'identifier et de comparer les assemblages de chauves-souris répartis à une échelle altitudinale régionale. Le suivi a été effectué pendant trois nuits consécutives au cours du mois de septembre 2018 dans trois plages altitudinales : 600 m, 800 m, 1100 m, qui sont situées dans la municipalité de Cumanayagua, province de Cienfuegos, centre-sud de Cuba. Trois filets japonais de 9 mètres ont été utilisés pour l'identification des espèces de chauves-souris. Onze espèces de chauves-souris ont été identifiées, appartenant à quatre familles et 10 genres, représentant 42,3% de la chiroptérofaune de Cuba et 57,9% de celle de Guamuhaya. La guilde trophique la mieux représentée est celle des insectivores (6 espèces). Il a été démontré que la richesse en espèces est influencée par le gradient altitudinal, qui est responsable de l'hétérogénéité du paysage du Pico San Juan.
