Die Gleichgewichtsfähigkeit ermöglicht es, den Körper in einen Gleichgewichtszustand zu bringen und ihn dort zu halten. Die Gleichgewichtsfähigkeit ist wichtig für das alltägliche Leben, da sie für die Ausführung von Bewegungsabläufen unumgänglich ist. Zudem ist die Gleichgewichtsfähigkeit eine Verletzungsprophylaxe. Da die Testperson in der Freizeit Handball spielt und dies eine sehr schnelle Sportart mit häufigen Richtungswechseln und einem hohen Verletzungsrisiko ist, ist eine Verletzungsprophylaxe und eine Hand-Fuß-Koordination, wichtig. Durch eine gute Gleichgewichtsfähigkeit und eine gute Koordination kann der Alltag der Testperson leichter gemeistert werden. Im Handballspiel kann die Testperson dadurch die schnellen Bewegungen und Richtungswechsel besser kontrollieren. Oftmals ist durch mangelnde Bewegung, wie es die sitzende Tätigkeit bei der Testperson sein kann, die Bewegungskoordination verschlechtert. Anhand dieser Kriterien wird ein Trainingsplan konzipiert.
