Based on P. Bourdieu's concept of field, this book aims to analyse the role played by the internationalisation of the performing arts in the careers of stage directors and choreographers in Finland. Through a number of interviews, it analyses the relationship these artists have with an international field of the performing arts and how they use this relationship to develop their careers in Finland. Finally, it also shows how the degree to which Finnish performing arts are integrated into this international field encourages or discourages artists' interest in what is happening outside Finnish borders.

Bourdieus Konzept des Feldes soll in diesem Buch analysiert werden, welche Rolle die Internationalisierung der darstellenden Künste in der Karriere von Regisseuren und Choreografen in Finnland spielt. Anhand mehrerer Interviews wird analysiert, welche Beziehung diese Künstler zu einem internationalen Feld der darstellenden Künste haben und wie sie diese Beziehung in ihrer Karriereentwicklung in Finnland nutzen. Schließlich zeigt er auch, wie der eigene Grad der Integration der finnischen darstellenden Künste in dieses internationale Feld das Interesse der Künstler an dem, was außerhalb der finnischen Grenzen geschieht, fördert oder behindert.

Ökosysteme werden zerstört, wie zum Beispiel der Äquatorialwald, der nach dem Amazonasgebiet die zweitgrößte Lunge der Welt ist. Wenn die kongolesischen Naturräume mit der Zeit der Zerstörung anheimfallen, bleiben auch die städtischen Umgebungen nicht verschont: Zerstörung und Verschmutzung der Luft, ungeklärte Abwässer... Diese Verschlechterung der Umwelt, sowohl der natürlichen als auch der städtischen, hat mehrere Folgen.
