Danach wird sich ausführlich dem Werk an sich gewidmet, indem es beschrieben und die wichtigsten Analysen zusammengefasst werden. Im darauffolgenden Kapitel soll zunächst Frans Hals und dessen Wirken vorgestellt werden, welches zur Entstehung des Schützenstücks führte, bevor der zweite Künstler, Pieter Codde zur Sprache kommt.
