The Panzerkampfwagen 38(t) was not born German. Its original name was LT vz. 38, and was the best Czechoslovak tank made between the wars. However, it only had luck and substantial use in another army, the German army, which renamed the vehicle Pz.Kpfw.38(t). In the Wehrmacht, this tank became one of the symbols of the Blitzkrieg, fighting in the vanguard of the German armoured units. Thus it was that in the spring of 1940, the Prague-built tanks destroyed the British and French vehicles that had failed to come to the aid of Czechoslovakia two years earlier...

Platforms of Reality is a multi-layered analysis and interpretationof Heaven Baek's work, which explores how individualsand society interact both in reality and on stage.It ranges from the artist's early works to her most recentpractice, in which she questions the reality of video timelines,instant realities, and collective memories. Her wellscriptedperformances are spatial visualizations of theflood of real information that has somehow lost its purposeand meaning.The book is divided into four chapters, each exploring adifferent sense of reality and bringing together her artisticapproaches. After a trip to Japan in 1953, Werner Blaser published his landmark book on classical Japanese architecture. These are the threads that Melissa McCarthy follows, unpicks, weaves again into a nexus of light and time: the mirrored silver cells of a shark's eyeball, sunlight glinting off the foam and sea wrack of the Aegean on flower with corpses, the silver salts of photographic paper, silver grave-treasures at Ur.Like an archaeologist in her own strange literary landscape, McCarthy cuts through layers of history and technology to realign the dead and their images.
