Der Asiatische Garten in Kraichtal-Münzesheim zieht jährlich zahlreiche Besucher*innen an, die häufig überrascht sind von einem exotischen Garten dieser Größe, in einer ansonsten eher ländlich geprägten Gegend.Vielen nicht bewusst ist dabei der unmittelbare Zusammenhang zum Therapiezentrum Münzesheim, ohne welches es diesen Garten nicht gegeben hätte und das die aufwändige Pflege und Instandhaltung bis heute zusammen mit zahlreichen Patienten bewerkstelligt. Für das Buchprojekt konnten noch zahlreiche ehemalige Mitarbeiter*innen befragt werden, die selbst an der Entstehung mitgewirkt haben und bis heute noch eine intensive Beziehung zu "ihrem Garten" haben.Neben historischen Hintergründen und aktuellen Bezügen zur Therapie suchtkranker Menschen bietet das Buch auch einen Einblick in die zahlreichen asiatischen Elemente und Symbole, die sich im Garten befinden. Neben der Vermittlung von Hintergrundwissen soll das Buch aber auch den ästhetischen Genuss widerspiegeln, den der Besuch des Gartens hervorruft. Dabei vermittelt gerade die Abbildung der jahreszeitlichen Veränderungen ein umfassenderes Bild vom Asiatischen Garten, als es der punktuelle Besuch vermag.
