New Orleans is one of the places on earth where celebration is how the people cope with everything from life to death. Mardi Gras is no exception. The year 2021 found the world in a pandemic. As safety was the most important goal for mankind, the Mayor of New Orleans, along with other officials, made the determination that Mardi Gras would not occur making the season historically somber for the citizens of the city and annual visitors; or so it seemed.The people, as well as, visitors from across the globe, are accustomed to extravagant floats, marching bands, walking bands, dance groups, flambeau carriers, Indian Tribes, formal balls and many others sights that make Mardi Gras the unique event that it is. Mardi Gras is a culture, not just an event for the people of New Orleans. So, without the normal sights of the season, the citizens of the city, in all courage and excitement turned homes, business and mansions into floats in a display of resilience to not allow the culture to die.While every single property could not be captured, this photographic walk is dedicated to the citizens of New Orleans.

During the Second World War, Hungary deployed several tank units to support the Axis war effort. The Hungarian army mainly used two types of tanks during the conflict: the Toldi and the Turán in different variants. The Toldi was a Hungarian light tank developed in the 1930s. It was an agile tank suitable for reconnaissance and troop support tasks. The Turán was the first mass-produced Hungarian tank. It was based on the chassis of the Czechoslovak LT vz. 38. However, the light armour made these tanks vulnerable to enemy hits. They were mainly used on the Eastern Front against the Soviet Union.

In their practice, Klara Källström and Thobias Fäldt make extensive use of historical reference and historical juxtaposition to make sense of the present, including the status of photography. They invite us to be critical of dominant narratives about the world today, while examining how photography is used in the creation of these narratives. A guiding principle in their oeuvre are the gaps between what is visible and what is told. By exploring the limitations, challenges, and possibilities of photography, the artists aim to unfold and expose overlooked parts of official history as well as contemporary narratives. This is where nuances, critical perspectives, and questions reside. These are the stories that are uncomfortable and difficult. They would most likely have no natural platform in the public arena if they did not appear in Källström-Fäldt's projects. The artists' exhaustive body of work on Julian Assange and WikiLeaks is perhaps the most striking example of their commitment to exploring narratives that do not fit a certain mould. The ongoing project examines the media image of Assange following his exposure of US war crimes. Looking into the gaps of the Assange story, the artists shed light on anti-democratic forces and attacks on press freedom. Building on the insights of their work, Duncan Forbes, Head of Photography at Victoria and Albert Museum in London, has written an essay investigating the ways in which Källström-Fäldt approach questions of historical consciousness and historical process in their work.Text: Johannes Wahlström, Dragana Vujanovic Östlind.

What began as a relaxing walk has turned into an impressive, long-term photographic observation of this "forest seascape."The pictures she has produced are of an ancient, archaic landscape that has survived for many generations and will continue to survive over many more in the future. They capture the quiet, the beauty, the robustness, and the fragility of the beeches set against the backdrop of the smooth, timeless horizon above the sea; and the magic of fog, light, clouds, snow, and the seasons of the year. Their journey takes them to Foggy Island, a land shrouded in both mist and secrecy. Gaining a grant to study the Island's link to fairy folklore, the two researchers spend a year exploring the uncharted terrain, searching for forgotten relics to illuminate the origins of fairy belief. Le 24 juin 1923, le trois-mâts goélette Marité est béni par l'abbé Lecadre au port de Fécamp. Les 24 et 25 juin 2023, le dernier terre-neuvier français fête son centenaire dans le port de Granville. Au départ, Marité est un dundee harenguier, une refonte du navire est nécessaire pour le tranformer en terre-neuvier, en trois-mâts conçu afin d'embarquer 24 hommes et une douzaine de doris. Marité a pratiqué la pêche à la morue sur les bans de Terre-Neuve de 1924 à 1929 au cours de cinq campagnes, ramenant pour chacune d'elles entre 100 et 160 tonnes de morues.On 24 june 1923, the three-masted schooner Marité was blessed by abbé Lecadre in the port of Fécamp. On 24 and 25 June 2023, the last French Newfoundlander will celebrate her centenary in the port of Granville. Initially, Marité was a herring dundee, but the ship had to be refitted to transform her into a three-masted terre-neuvier designed to carry 24 men and a dozen dories. Marité fished for cod on the banks of Newfounland from 1924 to 1929 during five campaigns, bringing in between 100 to 160 tonnes of cod each.

This is how the knitting begins to get my mind focused on goals throughout the year. This book encourages me to continue to work with tutors, coaches, classmates and/or lead as a parent, by showing up for college courses when possible. It could be showing up for each shift as well as continuing education, because after all, this is a book to keep up to par on endeavors instead of continue to want to do so much when these goals are in progress somehow, through the efforts presented through each photo, correct?

In Hiking New Mexico's Chaco Canyon, James C. Wilson wrote a guidebook for hiking and camping in Chaco Canyon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in northwestern New Mexico that the Zuñi, Hopi, Acoma and other Pueblos consider their ancestral homeland. New Mexico's Chaco Canyon: Photographing the Ancient City is intended to be a guidebook for amateur photographers wanting to photograph the canyon and its spectacular ruins. The volume offers tips on where, when, and sometimes how to photograph the ruins of the ancient stone city that dates from about 860 to 1200 A.D. Wilson takes you on a tour of the Great Houses in the canyon, including Pueblo Bonito and Chetro Ketl (with 650 and 500 rooms respectively). Photographers will discover how images of the massive stone structures vary by angle, light, and time of day. Photographers can experiment with different lenses and camera settings, including manual and automatic, as they explore the smaller Great Houses and Casa Rinconada, the largest excavated Great Kiva in the canyon. Wilson then points out the trails of Chaco's three mesas (North, West, and South Mesa) that connect with Chaco's ancient road system. The various overlooks on the mesa trails provide spectacular views of the ruins and the red sandstone cliffs of the canyon.
