Lo scopo di questa ricerca è valutare la gestione dei rifiuti ospedalieri (HW) nella città di Matola, in particolare nell'Ospedale Provinciale di Matola (HPM). Il metodo utilizzato per raggiungere gli obiettivi è stato un approccio quantitativo, qualitativo discreto ed esplorativo. A tal fine, sono state determinate in modo specifico le quantità dei tipi di rifiuti generati e sono state valutate le pratiche di gestione in conformità con la legislazione vigente a livello nazionale. Si è concluso che l'HPM genera diverse categorie di rifiuti, ovvero: rifiuti comuni, rifiuti infettivi, rifiuti taglienti, rifiuti chimici, rifiuti radioattivi e, infine, rifiuti biologici. La quantificazione dei rifiuti ospedalieri generati presso l'HPM ha rivelato un tasso di produzione di 216,6 kg al giorno e 1083 kg a settimana. Del totale generato ogni settimana, circa 600 kg sono rifiuti non pericolosi e circa 483 kg sono pericolosi. Per quanto riguarda le pratiche di gestione dei rifiuti ospedalieri presso l'HPM, si può concludere che non vengono eseguite correttamente e che quindi devono essere monitorate più attentamente. Anche se sono state osservate alcune delle pratiche richieste dalla legislazione vigente in Mozambico.

Es wurde festgestellt, dass das HPM mehrere Abfallkategorien erzeugt, nämlich: gewöhnliche Abfälle, infektiöse Abfälle, Abfälle von scharfen Gegenständen, chemische Abfälle, radioaktive Abfälle und schließlich biologische Abfälle. Die Quantifizierung der im HPM anfallenden Krankenhausabfälle ergab eine Erzeugungsrate von 216,6 kg/Tag und 1083 kg/Woche. Von der wöchentlich anfallenden Gesamtmenge sind etwa 600 kg nicht gefährliche Abfälle und etwa 483 kg gefährliche Abfälle. Im Hinblick auf die Praktiken der Abfallentsorgung im HPM kann der Schluss gezogen werden, dass diese nicht ordnungsgemäß durchgeführt werden und daher genauer überwacht werden müssen. Zwar wurden einige der in den geltenden Rechtsvorschriften von Mosambik vorgeschriebenen Praktiken eingehalten.

El método utilizado para alcanzar los objetivos fue un enfoque cuantitativo, cualitativo discreto y exploratorio. Para ello, se determinaron específicamente las cantidades de los tipos de residuos generados y se evaluaron las prácticas de gestión de acuerdo con la legislación vigente a nivel nacional. Se concluyó que el HPM genera varias categorías de residuos, a saber: residuos comunes, residuos infecciosos, residuos punzantes, residuos químicos, residuos radiactivos y, por último, residuos biológicos. La cuantificación de los residuos hospitalarios generados en el HPM reveló una tasa de generación de 216,6kg/día y 1083kg/semana. Del total generado cada semana, unos 600kg son residuos no peligrosos y unos 483kg peligrosos. En lo que respecta a las prácticas de gestión de residuos hospitalarios en el HPM, se puede concluir que no se están llevando a cabo de forma adecuada y que, por lo tanto, es necesario supervisarlas más de cerca. Aunque se han observado algunas de las prácticas exigidas por la legislación vigente en Mozambique.

The aim of this research is to evaluate the management of Hospital Waste (HW) in the city of Matola, in particular the Matola Provincial Hospital (HPM). Benedikt Leßmann untersucht diesen Kulturtransfer erstmals in seiner Breite und plädiert dafür, historische Übersetzungen als Texte eigenen Rechts ernst zu nehmen.

Mit Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts ändern sich die Rezeptionsweisen außereuropäischer Kulturen; insbesondere Asien als "zentrales Feld von Welterfahrung" (Osterhammel) weckt erneutes und anders gerichtetes Interesse als in der Epoche des Orientalismus. In den Künsten entwickelt sich zwischen dem nahenden Ende des Imperialismus und der Gegenwart ein neuer und produktiver Umgang mit den enormen kulturellen Ressourcen Asiens, der über eine Sequenz von Fallstudien insbesondere aus den Bereichen der Architektur, Kunst und Literatur dargestellt werden soll. Dabei wird auch deutlich, dass der Blick der Akteure zunächst meist von West nach Ost geht, bevor, vor allem nach der Dekolonisation, tatsächlich reziproke Kommunikationen entstehen. Im Hintergrund stehen zwei Fragen: Ergeben sich mit fortschreitender Globalisierung auch transkulturelle Mischungen? Und in welcher Weise hat der Bezug der westlichen und später ebenso der östlichen Avantgarden auf die bestehenden Kulturen Asiens die Richtung der Moderne insgesamt verändert? Ansätze indizieren, dass sich mancherorts aus einem universalistisch-homogenisierenden Projekt etwas Neues, eine plurale, historische wie kulturelle Differenzen mehrsträngig mit einbeziehende Moderne zu entwickeln begonnen hat.
