  • - Fractional Calculus Approach
von Vasily E. Tarasov & Valentina V. Tarasova
    120,95 €

The series is devoted to the publication of high-level monographs which cover progresses in fractional calculus research in mathematics and applications in physics, mechanics, engineering and biology etc. Methodological aspects e.g., theory, modeling and computational methods are presented from mathematical point of view, and emphases are placed in computer simulation, analysis, design and control of application-oriented issues in various scientific disciplines. It is designed for mathematicians, and researchers using fractional calculus as a tool in the field of physics, mechanics, engineering and biology. Contributions which are interdisciplinary and which stimulate further research at the crossroads of sciences and engineering are particularly welcomed. • - Cyber-Human System Modeling and Control
von Yangquan Chen & Kecai Cao
    108,95 €

This book illustrates the application of fractional calculus in crowd dynamics via modeling and control groups of pedestrians. Decision-making processes, conservation laws of mass/momentum, and micro-macro models are employed to describe system dynamics while cooperative movements in micro scale, and fractional diffusion in macro scale are studied to control the group of pedestrians. Obtained work is included in the Intelligent Evacuation Systems that is used for modeling and to control crowds of pedestrians. With practical issues considered, this book is of interests to mathematicians, physicists, and engineers.

  • von Michal Feckan & JinRong Wang
    119,95 €

This book extends classical Hermite-Hadamard type inequalities to the fractional case via establishing fractional integral identities, and discusses Riemann-Liouville and Hadamard integrals, respectively, by various convex functions. Illustrating theoretical results via applications in special means of real numbers, it is an essential reference for applied mathematicians and engineers working with fractional calculus. • von Michal Feckan, Michal Pospisil & JinRong Wang
    135,00 €

This book presents fractional difference, integral, differential, evolution equations and inclusions, and discusses existence and asymptotic behavior of their solutions. Controllability and relaxed control results are obtained. Combining rigorous deduction with abundant examples, it is of interest to nonlinear science researchers using fractional equations as a tool, and physicists, mechanics researchers and engineers studying relevant topics. • von Bruce J. West
    99,95 €

Complexity increases with increasing system size in everything from organisms to organizations. The nonlinear dependence of a system's functionality on its size, by means of an allometry relation, is argued to be a consequence of their joint dependency on complexity (information). In turn, complexity is proven to be the source of allometry and to provide a new kind of force entailed by a system's information gradient. Based on first principles, the scaling behavior of the probability density function is determined by the exact solution to a set of fractional differential equations. The resulting lowest order moments in system size and functionality gives rise to the empirical allometry relations. Taking examples from various topics in nature, the book is of interest to researchers in applied mathematics, as well as, investigators in the natural, social, physical and life sciences.
