This book is a collection of chapters from the IFIP working groups 13.8 and 9.4. The 10 papers included present experiences and research on the topic of digital transformation and innovation practices in the global south. The topics span from digital transformation initiatives to novel innovative technological developments, practices and applications of marginalised people in the global south. 

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 6th IFIP TC 10 International Embedded Systems Symposium, IESS 2019, which took place in Friedrichshafen, Germany, in September 2019.The 16 full papers and 4 short papers presented in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 32 submissions. The papers were organized in topical sections on embedded real-time systems; estimations; architecture and applications; algorithms and System C; and analysis.

This volume constitutes the refereed and revised post-conference proceedings of the 7th IFIP WG 5.15 International Conference on Information Technology in Disaster Risk Reduction, ITDRR 2022, held in Kristiansand, Norway, in October 2022.The 23 full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 33 submissions. The papers focus on various aspects and challenges of coping with disaster risk reduction. The papers are categorized in the following topical subheadings: strategic disaster risk reduction; situational awareness; telecommunications, sensors and drones; collaborative emergency management; cybersecurity and privacy; earthquake and climate forecasting; social media analytics; community resilience.

This book contains selected papers presented at the 17th IFIP WG 9.2, 9.6/11.7, 11.6/SIG 9.2.2 International Summer School on Privacy and Identity Management, held online in August/September 2022.The 9 full papers and 5 workshop and tutorial papers included in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 23 submissions. As in previous years, one of the goals of the IFIP Summer School was to encourage the publication of thorough research papers by students and emerging scholars. The papers combine interdisciplinary approaches to bring together a host of perspectives, such as technical, legal, regulatory, socio-economic, social or societal, political, ethical, anthropological, philosophical, or psychological perspectives.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of four International Workshops, held as parallel events of the 19th IFIP WG 12.5 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence Applications and Innovations, AIAI 2023, held in León, Spain, during June 14¿17, 2023: the 12th Workshop on Mining Humanistic Data (MHDW 2023); the 8th Workshop on ¿5G¿Putting Intelligence to the Network Edge (5G-PINE 2023); the second Workshop on AI in Energy, Buildings and Micro-Grids Workshop (¿¿BMG 2023); and the First Workshop on Visual Analytics Approaches for Complex Problems in Engineering and Biomedicine" (VAA-CP-EB 2023). This event was held in hybrid mode.The 37 regular papers presented at these workshops were carefully reviewed and selected from 86 submissions.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 7th IFIP TC 10 International Embedded Systems Symposium, IESS 2022, held in Lippstadt, Germany, during November 3-4, 2022. The 10 full revised papers and 2 short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 13 submissions. The presented research and technical works cover system-level design methods, algorithms, verification and validation techniques, estimation of system properties and characteristics, performance analysis, and real-time systems design. Also, the book presents industrial and real-world application case studies that discuss the challenges and realizations of modern embedded systems, especially when it comes to including artificial intelligence algorithms and techniques in embedded systems.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 14th IFIP WG 5.5/SOCOLNET Advanced Doctoral Conference on Computing, Electrical and Industrial Systems, DoCEIS 2023, held in Monte da Caparica, Portugal, during July 5-7, 2022.The 22 full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 47 submissions. The papers cover the following topics: energy communities; smart energy and power systems; intelligent manufacturing; health and biomedical information systems; intelligent computational systems; and electronics and communications.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 6th IFIP TC 12 International Conference on Computational Intelligence in Data Science, ICCIDS 2023, which took place in Kalavakkam, India, in February 2023.The 24 full papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 134 submissions. The major theme of the conference was intended to be computation intelligence and knowledge management. Various emerging areas like IoT, cyber security and data science need computation intelligence to align with the cutting-edge research. Machine learning delivers insights hidden in data for rapid, automated responses and improved decision making. Machine learning for IoT can be used to project future trends, detect anomalies, and augment intelligence by ingesting image, video, and audio.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 17th IFIP WG 11.12 International Symposium on Human Aspects of Information Security and Assurance, HAISA 2023, held in Kent, United Kingdom, in July 2023. The 37 full papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 54 submissions. They are organized in the following topical sections: education and training; management, policy and skills; evolving threats and attacks; social-technical factors; and research methods.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 23rd International TRIZ Future Conference on Towards AI-Aided Invention and Innovation, TFC 2023, which was held in Offenburg, Germany, during September 12¿14, 2023. The event was sponsored by IFIP WG 5.4.The 43 full papers presented in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 80 submissions. This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 24th IFIP WG 5.5 Working Conference on Virtual Enterprises, PRO-VE 2023, held in Valencia, Spain, in September 2023.The 59 papers presented in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 119 submissions.They provide a comprehensive overview of the major challenges in sustainability of collaborative ecosystems; risks, security and resilience in networks; collaborative value creation and services; collaborative interactions and human-centered networks; skills and enabling technologies; collaborative healthcare and agile production; and AI, digital twins, and intelligent frameworks.

This book contains the revised selected, refereed papers from the IFIP World Conference on Computers in Education on Towards a Collaborative Society through Creative Learning, WCCE 2022, Hiroshima, Japan, August 20-24, 2022. This project was motivated by the upcoming fiftieth anniversary of the IFIP Human Choice and Computers (HCC) conference, the event that led to IFIP¿s Technical Committee 9 (TC 9). Although IFIP committees are mainly technical, TC 9 is dedicated to research at the intersection of information and communication technology (ICT) with society. In addition to sponsoring HCC, TC 9 supports groups that have specific research interests. In consultation with their members, the leaders of each group offer chapters about their groups¿ history and goals. An additional chapter describes TC 9¿s formation, and an appendix details the national groups that work closely with TC 9. Overall, this volume is a useful guide to the historical development of research on ICT and society, providing readers with important reference works and relevant themes, and also points to likely new trends in these domains.
