This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the JSAI-isAI 2012 Workshops LENLS, JURISIN, ALSIP, MiMI, which tool place on November/December 2012, respectively, in Miyazaki, Japan. The 17 contributions in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 42 submissions.They are an excellent selection of papers that are representative of topics of AI research both in Japan an in other parts of the world. LENLS (Logic and Engineering of Natural Language Semantics) is an annual international workshop on formal semantics and pragmatics; its topics are the formal and theoretical aspects of natural language. JURISIN (Juris-Informatics) deals with juris-informatics. This workshop brings together people from various backgrounds such as law, social science, information and intelligent technology, logic and philosophy, including the conventional "e;AI and law"e; area. MiMI (Multimodality in Multispace Interaction) focuses on how multispace is managed in socially, temporally, and sequentially complex environments.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Third International Conference on Modeling Decisions for Artificial Intelligence, MDAI 2006, held in Tarragona, Spain, in April 2006. The 31 revised full papers presented together with 4 invited lectures were thoroughly reviewed and selected from 97 submissions. The papers are devoted to theory and tools for modeling decisions, as well as applications that encompass decision making processes and information fusion techniques.

The two-volume set LNAI 6591 and LNCS 6592 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Third International Conference on Intelligent Information and Database Systems, ACIIDS 2011, held in Daegu, Korea, in April 2011. The 110 revised papers presented together with 2 keynote speeches were carefully reviewed and selected from 310 submissions. This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed proceedings of the PAKDD 2012 International Workshops: Third Workshop on Data Mining for Healthcare Management (DMHM 2012), First Workshop on Geospatial Information and Documents (GeoDoc 2012), First Workshop on Multi-view data, High-dimensionality, External Knowledge: Striving for a Unified Approach to Clustering (3Clust 2012), and the Second Doctoral Symposium on Data Mining (DSDM 2012); held in conjunction with the 16th Pacific-Asia Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (PAKDD 2012), in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, May/June 2012. The 12 revised papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions. DMHM 2012 aimed at providing a common platform for the discussion of challenging issues and potential techniques in this emerging field of data mining for health care management; 3Clust 2012 focused on solving emerging problems such as clustering ensembles, semi-supervised clustering, subspace/projective clustering, co-clustering, and multi-view clustering; GeoDoc 2012 highlighted the formalization of geospatial concepts and relationships with a focus on the extraction of geospatial relations in free text datasets to offer to the database community a unified framework for geodata discovery; and DSDM 2012 provided the opportunity for Ph.D. students and junior researchers to discuss their work on data mining foundations, techniques and applications.

Research on Agents and Multi-Agent Systems has matured during the last decade and many effective applications of this technology are now deployed. PAAMS provides an international forum to present and discuss the latest scientific developments and their effective applications, to assess the impact of the approach, and to facilitate technology transfer. PAAMS started as a local initiative, but has since grown to become THE international yearly platform to present, to discuss, and to disseminate the latest developments and the most important outcomes related to real-world applications. It provides a unique opportunity to bring multi-disciplinary experts, academics and practitioners together to exchange their experience in the development and deployment of Agents and Multi-Agent Systems. PAAMS intends to bring together researchers and developers from industry and the academic world to report on the latest scientific and technical advances on the application of multi-agent systems, to discuss and debate the major issues, and to showcase the latest systems using agent based technology. It will promote a forum for discussion on how agent-based techniques, methods, and tools help system designers to accomplish the mapping between available agent technology and application needs. This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 25th Canadian Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Canadian AI 2012, held in Regina, SK, Canada, in May 2013. The 17 regular papers and 15 short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 73 initial submissions and are accompanied by 8 papers from the Graduate Student Symposium that were selected from 14 submissions. The papers cover a variety of topics within AI, such as: information extraction, knowledge representation, search, text mining, social networks, temporal associations.

The two-volume set LNAI 7267 and LNCS 7268 (together with LNCS 7269) constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Soft Computing, ICAISC 2012, held in Zakopane, Poland in April/May 2012. The 212 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 483 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on neural networks and their applications, computer vision, image and speech analysis, data mining, hardware implementation, bioinformatics, biometrics and medical applications, concurrent parallel processing, agent systems, robotics and control, artificial intelligence in modeling and simulation, various problems od artificial intelligence.

Autonomous agents and multi-agent systems have grown into a promising technology offering a credible alternative for the design of intelligent and cooperative systems. Recently efforts have been made to provide novel tools, methods, and frameworks to establish the necessary standards for wider use of MAS as a technology of its own and not only as an attractive paradigm.This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of the First International Workshop on Programming of the First International Workshop on Programming Multi-Agent Systems, PROMAS 2003, held in Melbourne, Australia in July 2003 as part of AAMAS 2003. Besides 8 workshop papers, the volume contains 3 invited papers to complete coverage of the relevant aspects. This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Artificial General Intelligence, AGI 2013, held in Beijing, China, in July/August 2013. The 23 papers (17 full papers, 3 technical communications, and 3 special session papers) were carefully reviewed and selected from various submissions. This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 7th International Conference on Scalable Uncertainty Management, SUM 2013, held in Washington, DC, USA, in September 2013. The 26 revised full papers and 3 revised short papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 57 submissions. The papers cover topics in all areas of managing and reasoning with substantial and complex kinds of uncertain, incomplete or inconsistent information including applications in decision support systems, machine learning, negotiation technologies, semantic web applications, search engines, ontology systems, information retrieval, natural language processing, information extraction, image recognition, vision systems, data and text mining, and the consideration of issues such as provenance, trust, heterogeneity, and complexity of data and knowledge.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 16th International Conference on Text, Speech and Dialogue, TSD 2013, held in Pilsen, Czech Republic, in September 2013. The 65 papers presented together with 5 invited talks were carefully reviewed and selected from 148 submissions. The main topics of this year's conference was corpora, texts and transcription, speech analysis, recognition and synthesis, and their intertwining within NL dialogue systems. The topics also included speech recognition, corpora and language resources, speech and spoken language generation, tagging, classification and parsing of text and speech, semantic processing of text and speech, integrating applications of text and speech processing, as well as automatic dialogue systems, and multimodal techniques and modelling.
